Frenos, the industry’s only fully simulated AI penetration testing platform, announced it has been recognized as a Cool Vendor in the Coolest Vendor Innovations in Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) Security, 2026 report.

Frenos’s Simulated OT Penetration Testing Platform tests existing industrial environments for exploitable attack paths and adversary tactics using a digital twin, without ever touching or disrupting the actual production systems. This is important in today’s threat environment as attackers increasingly target operational technology directly, and OT operators need a way to test their real exposure without introducing any risk of operational downtime to mission critical services their customers depend on.

Frenos has raised $6.4 million to date, most recently through a seed extension led by Momenta and Exposition Ventures, joined by Riptide Ventures. Additionally, Frenos has been awarded $1.1 million from the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Cybersecurity, Energy Security, and Emergency Response (CESER). These resources are supporting continued development of the Frenos platform for all critical infrastructure sectors including the federal government and defense.
