For decades, security screening forced a tradeoff: stronger protection meant slower lines, intrusive searches, and frustrated visitors. Evolv Technologies Holdings, Inc. , a leading security technology company pioneering AI-based solutions designed to create safer experiences, set out to challenge that assumption — and in doing so, fundamentally changed how millions of people experience security.

“With Evolv Express screening this magnitude of people worldwide since launch, it reinforces that Evolv is a solution proven at real scale,” said Ryan Cothran, Director of Safety & Emergency Services, Spartanburg School District Five.

Since launching Evolv Express® in 2019, Evolv has pioneered a modern approach to weapons screening that provides strong weapons detection capabilities balanced with visitor experience. By combining advanced sensor technology with unique data and proprietary artificial intelligence, Evolv has enabled organizations to balance effective threat detection with a welcoming, dignified visitor experience, even in the highest traffic environments.

That transformation is now reflected at historic scale. Evolv announced that Express, the company’s flagship product, has screened over four billion people worldwide since its launch, making it one of the most widely deployed AI-powered weapons detection technologies ever. From the Company’s first customers in 2019 to the more than 1,000 customers using Evolv products , it has become a cornerstone of a multi-layered security screening operation.

“With Evolv Express screening this magnitude of people worldwide since launch, it reinforces that Evolv is a solution proven at real scale,” said Ryan Cothran, Director of Safety & Emergency Services, Spartanburg School District Five. “We value these kinds of milestones, and the increase of data that comes with them to drive more innovation, as we work to keep students and staff safe while maintaining a welcoming school experience.”

Based on a comparison of self-reported Transportation Security Administration (TSA) data and Evolv’s internal screening data, on average in 2025, Evolv’s AI-based screening solutions screened more people per day than the United States Transportation Security Administration, underscoring the real-world impact of its technology beyond traditional transportation security environments.

Evolv Express is deployed across hundreds of venues globally, including schools, hospitals, professional sports stadiums, arenas, performing arts centers, workplaces, houses of worship, and other public gathering spaces, where security teams face constant pressure to increase safety without disrupting daily life. The system is designed to reduce congestion, minimize unnecessary alarms, and help security teams focus their attention where it matters most.

“Evolv was founded on the belief that security should work at the pace of life,” said John Kedzierski, President and Chief Executive Officer of Evolv. “Screening billions of people proves that it’s possible to protect large, dynamic environments while preserving efficiency and a dignified human experience.”

Beyond screening volume, Evolv Express integrates with Evolv Insights®, a data and analytics platform that enables security professionals and venue operators to review throughput volumes, detection performance, and operational trends across their facilities. These insights can help organizations continuously improve security operations while delivering a smooth entry experience for visitors, employees, patients, students, and fans.

As organizations around the world reevaluate legacy security models, Evolv continues to demonstrate that modern, AI-driven screening can deliver both safety and scale, transforming how people enter the places where they live, work, learn, and gather.
