Bitdefender, a European-based company and a global cybersecurity leader, announced it has been named a Notable Vendor in the 2026 Gartner® Europe Context: Magic Quadrant™ for Endpoint Protection.¹ The company believes this position reflects its ability to combine cybersecurity expertise, prevention-first innovation, data sovereignty, and proven security outcomes.

Businesses across Europe need security that delivers advanced threat prevention, protection, detection and response without sacrificing data sovereignty.

“In our opinion, this recognition validates our vision of combining security, risk management, and compliance in a single platform built for modern threats and expanding attack surface,” said Andrei Florescu, president and general manager of Bitdefender Business Solutions Group. “Businesses across Europe need security that delivers advanced threat prevention, protection, detection and response without sacrificing data sovereignty. Our commitment to innovation, from behavior-based attack surface reduction to EU-hosted sovereign cloud deployments, ensures organizations never have to choose between cybersecurity efficacy and operational control.”

In our view, the 2026 Gartner Europe Context: Magic Quadrant for Endpoint Protection examines how geopolitical dynamics, regulatory pressure, and digital sovereignty requirements are reshaping vendor evaluation in the European market. Gartner positions sovereignty, operational resilience, and overreliance on foreign providers as increasingly critical buying criteria, as European organizations weigh data residency, legal jurisdiction, and deployment flexibility alongside traditional security capabilities. Gartner also cautions that much of the current sovereignty messaging amounts to compliance theater rather than meaningful operational or technological independence.

Bitdefender was considered for GravityZone, a unified security, risk analytics, and compliance solution that delivers advanced endpoint protection (EP), endpoint detection and response (EDR), extended detection and response (XDR), and cloud-native security.

GravityZone provides deep security context to detections and offers a direct path to Bitdefender Managed Detection and Response (MDR) services. Bitdefender recently enhanced GravityZone with new capabilities, including GravityZone Extended Email Security, GravityZone Security Data Lake, GravityZone Compliance Manager, and GravityZone PHASR (standalone), a first-to-market innovation that uses AI-driven behavioral analysis to dynamically adapt hardening policies in real time.

Recent Bitdefender endpoint security developments include:

  • Bitdefender Launched New European Sovereign Cloud Partnerships — Through partnerships with OVHcloud (France) and secunet (Germany), Bitdefender delivers GravityZone in fully EU-hosted environments, ensuring customer and configuration data, security events, and telemetry are never accessible, transferred, or processed outside the EU.
  • Named a Visionary in the 2026 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Endpoint Protection² — Bitdefender was named a Visionary for the fourth consecutive year, in our view reflecting the company’s long-standing commitment to innovation that addresses rapidly evolving cyberattacks.
  • Bitdefender GravityZone Recognized as Best Overall by AV-Comparatives — Bitdefender achieved the highest detection rate among all participating cybersecurity vendors and the lowest Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), underscoring the company’s commitment to both security efficacy and operational efficiency.
  • Bitdefender GravityZone Named Best Endpoint Security at SC Awards Europe 2026 — GravityZone earned top honors at one of the industry’s most respected independent cybersecurity award programs, recognized for its complete attack-lifecycle coverage across endpoints and workloads and its ability to address expanding attack surfaces, AI-augmented threats, and stealthy intrusions.
