New executive hires deepen Axoniusโ leadership team to further scale the company in its next phase of growth
Axonius, the asset intelligence platform for unified security operations and exposure management, today announced the appointments of Chris Jones as chief trust & security officer (CTSO) and Dan Schoenbaum as senior vice president of business development. Both leaders join as Axonius continues to grow its customer base and partner ecosystem globally.
Chris Jones Named Chief Trust & Security Officer
Jones brings more than 25 years of experience across high-growth SaaS and Fortune 50 technology companies, as well as U.S. federal and intelligence communities. In his new role, Jones will own Axonius’ enterprise security strategy (protecting the companyโs infrastructure, data, and customer trust) while leading the field chief information security officer (CISO) program as a customer-facing security advisor. Jones will serve as a thought leader on behalf of Axonius across asset intelligence, continuous threat exposure management (CTEM), and AI security with the cybersecurity community.

Most recently, Jones served as deputy CISO at Cisco, where he owned the cybersecurity strategy for the network platform and assurance organization. It was the companyโs largest and fastest-growing portfolio of network and cloud products, including Meraki and Catalyst, and generated more than $10 billion in revenue. Prior to Cisco, Jones matured the enterprise security function at CLEAR following the companyโs IPO, delivering PCI DSS, SOC 2, and FedRAMP High compliance while embedding security into product and engineering development.
Earlier in his career, Jones founded Nikeโs first global cybersecurity incident response team. Jones began his career in public safety before supporting the U.S. federal government and intelligence community operations, where he founded the FBIโs Cyber Profiling Program.
Dan Schoenbaum Named SVP of Business Development
Schoenbaum brings more than 30 years of experience across go-to-market (GTM), partnership, and executive leadership for high-growth cybersecurity and SaaS companies. At Axonius, Schoenbaum will lead the companyโs business development and partner and alliances business.
Schoenbaum joins from Hive Pro, an exposure management company, where he served as chief marketing officer (CMO) and head of technology partnerships. Schoenbaum previously spent four years at Team Cymru, building GTM programs with Google, Microsoft, Palo Alto Networks, and ServiceNow.
Earlier in his career, Schoenbaum was president and chief operating officer (COO) of RiskIQ, an attack surface management company later acquired by Microsoft. Schoenbaum was also the CEO of Redbooth, a workstream collaboration company later acquired by AeroFS, and Cooladata, a customer analytics company later acquired by Medallia. Schoenbaum served as a first sergeant in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).
Executive Perspectives
“Chris has spent his career making sure security programs hold up under real scrutiny and not just an audit. That’s the standard our customers hold us to, and it’s the standard he’ll hold us to across asset intelligence, CTEM, and AI security,โ said Joe Diamond, chief executive officer at Axonius. โDan has spent his career turning partnerships into revenue. With more than 1,400 bi-directional integrations already built on Axonius, the partner ecosystem exists. Dan’s job is to turn it into joint GTM opportunities.”
โCustomers donโt want to be sold security. They want a product that works. My job is to close that gap. I want to bring what our customers are dealing with in the field back into what we build in the Axonius Asset Cloud,โ said Chris Jones, chief trust & security officer at Axonius. โJoining Axonius is an opportunity to build trust from the inside by securing our platform to the standard our customers expect.โ
โMy job is straightforward. I want to evolve our business development strategy and partner and alliances business, so that more of our partners are working with Axonius on joint solutions for our customers,โ said Dan Schoenbaum, senior vice president of business development at Axonius. โWe want a robust partner ecosystem across our channel and tech alliance partners that drives revenue growth.โ
