5Q And Tempered Networks Team Up To Offer Secure, Scalable Cybersecurity Solutions For Commercial Real Estate Industry

Deloitte’s 2021 commercial real estate outlook reports that 44% of surveyed commercial real estate executives believe that cybersecurity is one of the biggest challenges they face when digitizing their properties. To mitigate cyber risks, 5Q, a technology solutions company focused on the commercial real estate industry, has partnered with Tempered Networks to bring its 5Q Managed Security strategy to clients, including the new zero trust architecture solution – ZeTA (Zero Trust Architecture).

The 5Q Managed Security Strategy aims to limit exposure and impact from cyber threats by better protecting OT perimeters, assets within the perimeters and reducing vulnerabilities through the following methods:

  1. Securing the perimeter
  2. Monitoring and detecting
  3. Responding effectively
  4. Actionable reporting

5Q leverages Tempered’s Airwall platform as the foundation for ZeTA, a new solution that provides network segmentation and secures remote access between any two systems over a global public network or within the confines of on-premises infrastructure. ZeTA combines 5Q’s commercial real estate, managed services and cybersecurity expertise, offering a more secure, easier-to-manage network infrastructure through isolating communications, consistent secure remote access, and managing legacy upgrades.

“Protecting the ‘crown jewels’ of our client’s assets is our top priority, as that information is most valuable to threat actors,” says Don Goldstein, president, and CISO of 5Q. “Our partnership with Tempered allows us to leverage our strengths, as well as theirs, to provide a comprehensive zero trust solution addressing the most common vulnerabilities in commercial real estate networks. Through ZeTA, our customers will have robust protection that keeps their systems and information hidden from public internet access.”

As commercial real estate companies evolve with digital transformation and developers are integrating new “smart” technologies into their buildings, systems are exposed to increased vulnerability to cyber-attacks that must be addressed. The application of Tempered’s Airwall technology helps 5Q quickly secure OT networks across a portfolio before remediation efforts begin, creating a more cost-effective solution, and enhanced remote access protection to keep clients’ most critical data and assets secure.

“The desire for connectivity and the increasing use of remote access, especially in commercial real estate, calls for enhanced protection from cyber threats,” said Keith Beeman, CEO of Tempered Networks. “This is why we created Airwall, the virtual airgap. Through this partnership, 5Q will secure customers’ critical infrastructure with best-in-class zero trust protection.”
