Atlassian Ranks Among Top 25 Companies Globally by Great Place to Work
Great Place to Work Institute also certified Atlassian as one of the 2021 Best Workplaces in India

Atlassian Corporation Plc, a leading provider of team collaboration and productivity software and the maker of Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, and Trello, announced that it has been ranked 23rd in the World’s Best Workplaces 2021 by Great Place to Work. In India, the company is also certified as one of the 2021 Best Workplaces and ranked in the ‘Top 100 Best Workplaces for Women 2021′ by the Great Place to Work Institute. Atlassian, which has a world-class R&D center in Bengaluru, has been recognised for its efforts in creating a culture where regardless of where employees are located across the globe, they feel connected to the company, its values, and their work.

Founded in 2002 by college friends, Mike Cannon-Brookes and Scott Farquhar, Atlassian has always strived to be a company where people want to work, and where employees can do the best work of their lives. Fast-forward nearly twenty years and the Atlassian team has grown to more than 6,000 employees spread across 14 countries, all working in a distributed work environment. During the pandemic, the company announced a new way of work through its TEAM Anywhere policy which allows employees to choose how and where they work, be it an office, a remote location, or a combination of both.

Mike Cannon-Brookes, co-CEO and co-founder, Atlassian said, “It’s humbling to be recognised as one of the best places to work globally. Especially in a year when we’ve announced a major shift in how we think about the ‘workplace’, allowing our staff to work from anywhere.”

“Today, being a great place to work is more than your physical environment. When your values underpin what you do and the decisions you make, reimagining work for the next generation becomes easier. We need the best minds to work for us to make amazing products that compete in the global marketplace. We do what it takes to attract, nurture and retain those incredibly talented people,” he further added.

With the recent shift to remote work, Atlassian re-looked at how it could engage and support its employees. During India’s second wave of COVID-19, the company temporarily switched its team in India to a four-day work week to acknowledge and support the challenges they were facing. In addition to this, Atlassian is continually building on its employee benefits, with recent additions including increased mental health support via subscriptions and access to expert resources, special leave for COVID-related hardship (e.g. vaccinations, childcare etc.), and additional resilience workshops for staff. It also announced a USD$500 stipend for staff to create an optimal home workspace.
