The new coverage for security tools makes critical configurations across CrowdStrike, Zscaler, Fortinet and Palo Alto Networks recoverable, with additional platforms coming soon

ControlMonkey, a Cyber Resilience Platform for Cloud Configuration Disaster Recovery, today announced its expanded configuration backup and recovery for leading security platforms, starting with CrowdStrike, Zscaler, Fortinet and Palo Alto Networks. Support for additional security platforms is coming soon.

Security teams are responsible for protecting the business and ensuring it can recover from cyber incidents. However, the traditional security tools they depend on have their own recovery gap.

Critical security policies, rules, configurations, integrations, and settings change constantly. They can be modified through consoles, AI agents, APIs, and automation scripts. When these configurations are deleted, corrupted, or maliciously altered, an organization’s security posture can be immediately impacted, with no clear or predictable way to roll back the change.

Who backs up the security stack?

Now with ControlMonkey, organizations can continuously discover and snapshot configurations across supported security platforms, maintain versioned recovery points, understand what changed over time and restore previous known-good configurations when incidents occur.

“CISOs spend enormous effort making sure the organization has a recovery strategy, but the security tools responsible for protecting the business are often missing from that strategy,” said Aharon Twizer, CEO and co-founder of ControlMonkey. “If a critical security policy or platform configuration is changed or lost, teams should not have to rebuild it manually under pressure. Security configuration needs to be recoverable too.”

The expansion builds on ControlMonkey’s broader Cloud Configuration Disaster Recovery platform, which makes configuration recoverable across cloud infrastructure, identity, networking, observability, SaaS, and third-party systems.

Traditional backup focuses primarily on data and workloads. ControlMonkey addresses the configuration layer that determines whether applications can be accessed, routed, monitored, and secured.

A New Recovery Layer for the Security Stack

ControlMonkey enables security and infrastructure teams to:

  • Back up critical security configurations across CrowdStrike, Zscaler, Fortinet and Palo Alto Networks
  • Maintain versioned configuration snapshots to create known-good recovery points
  • Understand what changed before and during a security incident
  • Recover critical configurations without relying on manual rebuilds, scripts or tribal knowledge
  • Identify cyber resilience gaps across security platforms and the broader cloud environment

Support for additional security platforms will further expand ControlMonkey’s coverage of the systems organizations depend on to protect and operate modern cloud environments.

The announcement reflects a broader shift in disaster recovery: data recovery alone is not business recovery. Organizations also need the ability to recover the configurations behind identity, networking, observability, security and cloud infrastructure.

ControlMonkey is building that recovery layer across the modern cloud and SaaS stack.
