Vision for further development of the identity security ecosystem unveiled during the conclusion of SailPoint’s global Navigate event series in London
SailPoint Technologies, Inc., a leader in unified identity security for enterprises, unveiled its vision for the future of identity security. During his opening keynote at Navigate London, the final event of SailPoint’s 2024 Navigate series, President Matt Mills announced the new SailPoint Identity Graph and the impact it is expected to have on the identity security ecosystem as part of the Atlas platform. With it, SailPoint will help bring critical context across identities, access controls, threat detection and risk management, giving companies a whole new visualization layer that will help deliver the richer context needed to drive identity security decisions to new heights.
“At the center of Atlas is the power of a unified data model. But until recently, identity data has been undervalued when it comes to enterprise security”
The value of identity data and AI
“At the center of Atlas is the power of a unified data model. But until recently, identity data has been undervalued when it comes to enterprise security,” said Matt Mills. “Identity data includes all the unique information about an individual or machine, including their privileges, activities, audit history, access requests, access decisions, relationships and more. All that identity data provides an incredible amount of context. Right now, it’s nearly impossible for identity and security teams to get all the context they need, in real-time, to know what’s happening in the organization, what activity is a threat, and what remediation is needed – all in a single source of truth.”
Mills continued, “On top of that, given the volume and variety of identities, applications and data plus the velocity of change happening across their access needs, it is simply impossible to keep up with by hands on keyboards alone. AI, combined with the power of unified identity data, is a clear path forward to trying to stay ahead of threats today.”
Announcing the SailPoint Identity Graph
To help address the dynamic complexities of protecting the modern enterprise, the company unveiled the SailPoint Identity Graph, which will be powered by unified identity data and AI, fueling SailPoint’s vision for the future of the market and ecosystem. Identity graphs are interconnected representations of digital identities that map out relationships, interactions, and contextual data points. Visualization becomes crucial because it transforms abstract, multidimensional data into comprehensible and contextual insights.
With the APIs and third-party integrations that will underpin SailPoint’s Identity Graph, the company will enable unified connections to virtually all types of data, including XDR graphs, SIEM graphs, physical security systems and a lot more. Through this Identity Graph, SailPoint will arm companies to leverage unified identity data as context to better combat cyber risk.

Expected key outcomes and benefits of the SailPoint Identity Graph include:
- Complexity reduction: transforms intricate data relationships into intuitive visual representations
- Risk identification: quickly highlights potential security vulnerabilities
- Contextual understanding: provides holistic view of identity interactions
- Anomaly detection: enables rapid identification of unusual patterns
Mills explained further during his keynote that “while graph technology is not new and we use the technology in several of our solutions today, including Outliers, Application Onboarding and SailPoint Identity Risk, what’s new here is that our identity graph will now include a visualization layer that leverages our unified data model to show the relationships across all identities and their permissions and entitlements. With that, we will give you the ability to look outside in, to eventually ingest other graphs into the SailPoint Identity Graph. When coalesced, this will give you access to an enriched set of identity insights in real-time that you have never had before. This is paramount to battling today’s dynamic threat landscape.”
Join SailPoint in shaping enterprise security’s next act: identity security
With the SailPoint’s Identity Graph, the company will soon help unite a company’s identity fabric with their security fabric. For example, within this Identity Graph, SailPoint will be able to ingest data from HR systems, ERP systems, and other third-party graph data into its identity graph, plus data from third-party cyber security platforms or even physical security systems. When combined into the SailPoint Identity Graph, customers will have a whole new level of context and visualization in a single graph across their identity landscape. This represents a powerful new approach to enterprise security, where SailPoint customers may soon have greater identity context for their decisions.
“We believe that what we’ll deliver with Atlas and the SailPoint Identity Graph will be a game changer. We believe we’re building the most comprehensive set of identity related insights and information in the market today, with unified data and AI as the fuel,” Mills concluded.
