Kai Names Nick Degnan Chief Revenue Officer as Demand Surges for Machine-Speed Security

Three-time CRO and go-to-market leader joins Kai as enterprises shift from fractured silos and human-limited workflows to autonomous defense

Kai, the company behind the first agentic AI cybersecurity platform designed to execute security work end-to-end at machine speed with human expert accuracy, announced the appointment of Nick Degnan as Chief Revenue Officer (CRO). Degnan joins Kai as enterprise demand for agentic AI reaches an inflection point, requiring a new approach to security that replaces fragmented tools and human-limited workflows with autonomous, machine-speed execution.

Degnan brings more than 20 years of experience in building and scaling high-growth revenue organizations across cybersecurity and enterprise technology. Most recently, he served as Chief Revenue Officer at AppOmni, where he led all customer facing resources, including pre- and post-sales functions. Prior to that, he was Chief Revenue Officer at Axonius, where he led pre- and post-sales efforts during a period of rapid expansion, and served as Vice President of Global Corporate Sales at Tanium.

“Security teams are drowning in tools but still falling behind,” said Degnan. “What drew me to Kai is how quickly the team has turned their vision into real customer traction. Enterprises need autonomous defense that works across use cases at machine speed to keep pace with AI-enabled attackers, and Kai’s platform is meeting that moment. I haven’t seen a company take on something this ambitious and execute at this level so early. The demand is already there, and I’m excited to help scale the go-to-market engine to meet it.”

In this role, Degnan will lead Kai’s global go-to-market expansion, including sales, partnerships, and customer success. He will focus on scaling revenue operations, deepening customer relationships, and expanding Kai’s global footprint across enterprise markets.

“Cybersecurity is undergoing a once-in-a-generation shift from human-speed to machine-speed operations,” said Galina Antova, co-founder and CEO of Kai. “Nick understands how to build in moments where transformational shifts happen. His leadership will help us further Kai’s technological breakthrough into increased global adoption.”

Degnan joins Kai as the company builds on its $125 million emergence from stealth with the recent hiring of CISO Alfredo Hickman and increasing demand from Fortune 500 organizations. With a foundation rooted in advanced AI research and category-defining leaders behind companies like Claroty and SecurityMatters, Kai is entering its next phase of growth, where Degnan’s leadership will be critical in scaling its go-to-market engine and expanding reach.
