AI and Agents Are Making Data Risk Constant
AI didn’t create the problem of sensitive data; it made it constant, and autonomous agents are accelerating it. Data is moving faster than ever across cloud apps, internal systems, and third parties, while AI systems and agents are continuously accessing, transforming, and acting on that data, without clear visibility or control. As a result, risk is no longer static or point-in-time, and a one-time inventory no longer cuts it.
“We’re hearing the same thing from security and data leaders everywhere: it’s not enough to find sensitive data once and move on,” said Jason Clark, Chief Strategy Officer at Cyera. “AI systems and agents are constantly interacting with data, which means risk is constantly changing too. You need to understand your data as it evolves and be able to act on it in real time. That’s the shift we’re focused on.”
Cyera helps organizations continuously understand their data—what it is, why it matters, who and what can access it, and how it’s being used—so they can take action with confidence. By connecting the dots between data, people, systems, and risk, it becomes easier to prioritize and fix real issues before they become incidents.
As the report notes, “[Cyera’s] focus on the dynamic classification and continuous assessment of intent and drift stands out for tackling long-standing industry challenges as well as establishing a foundation for agentic AI governance.”
