Former HashiCorp security leader joins ConductorOne to deliver enterprise-grade security for the agentic enterprise.
ConductorOne, the identity platform for humans and agents, announced the appointment of Will Bengtson as Chief Information Security Officer. A deeply technical and widely respected security leader, Bengtson brings more than two decades of experience securing cloud platforms, identity systems, and developer infrastructure at global scale. “Will brings the security leadership this next era demands,” said Alex Bovee, co-founder and CEO of ConductorOne. “He’s built and secured platforms used by thousands of enterprises and brings a deep understanding of identity as access becomes more dynamic. His leadership ensures we continue to earn customer trust as the agentic enterprise grows more complex.”
Bengtson most recently served as Vice President of Platform and Security Engineering at HashiCorp, where he built and led teams securing infrastructure products used by thousands of enterprises globally. Previously, he held senior security and engineering roles at Netflix, Capital One, and Nuna, working at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, developer platforms, and identity. At Netflix, he focused on preventing and detecting compromise of cloud identities in AWS, building proactive security measures to ensure the Netflix cloud infrastructure remained safe. Earlier roles in offensive security and secure systems design give Bengtson a rare attacker-to-defender perspective – expertise he now brings to securing ConductorOne, the identity solution built for the agentic enterprise.
“I’ve spent years building teams, processes, and technical controls that stand up to rigorous audit and real‑world attack scenarios,” said Will Bengtson, Chief Information Security Officer. “At ConductorOne, my role is to ensure that the same level of rigor is reflected in our architecture, our operations, and the assurances we provide to enterprise customers.”
In addition to his industry experience, Bengtson has served as a lecturer and cybersecurity advisor at the University of Texas at El Paso, where he helped develop curriculum that contributed to the university’s designation as an NSA Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Operations. He is a frequent speaker at leading industry conferences including Black Hat, RSA, AppSec, and QCon and known for remaining deeply technical as a senior leader, often working hands-on with engineering teams. Beyond his professional work, Bengtson is active in giving back to his community, supporting education initiatives and children’s healthcare organizations.
