UserTesting Appoints David Smith as New Chief Technology Officer

Incumbent CTO moves into newly created role of Chief Innovation Officer

UserTesting, a SaaS leader in experience research and insights, today announced the appointment of David P. Smith as UserTesting’s Chief Technology Officer. In this role, David will advance the engineering team and scale the technology infrastructure to support UserTesting’s growth and expansion into new markets. Demonstrating UserTesting’s ongoing dedication to innovation, current CTO Kaj van de Loo will transition to the newly created role of Chief Innovation Officer, focusing on driving transformation initiatives and exploring new technologies in partnership with customers.

David P. Smith brings a wealth of experience from his previous roles at R1 RCM, VisitPay, Zapproved, Wolters Kluwer, ACTIVE Network, and ServiceU Corporation. With a proven track record in developing scalable and highly available software solutions across finance, legal, payment processing and healthcare industries, David has been instrumental in leveraging technology to build and lead global teams, delivering solutions that outperform competitors. His expertise in utilizing platforms like AWS and Azure has driven significant success and growth in his previous roles.

Kaj van de Loo, the current CTO, will transition to the newly created role of Chief Innovation Officer. He will support large-scale deployments, integrations with new technologies, and drive new and transformational workflows across an organization. Kaj will focus on transforming how organizations use experiential insights to spark new revenue streams, reduce costs, and mitigate product development risks in collaboration with our customers.
