Zayo Introduces Shielded Internet Access Offer in US and Canada
New Package Provides a Superior, Secure and Affordable Internet Experience for Enterprises

Zayo Group Holdings, Inc., a leading global provider of fiber-based communications solutions, announced a new product offer available to new and existing customers in key markets in the United States and Canada. The offer, called Shielded Internet Access, includes some of Zayo’s most popular services: Dedicated Internet Access, Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) Protection and CloudLink. Shielded Internet Access is initially available in Phoenix, Dallas/Fort Worth, Denver, Indianapolis, Seattle and Toronto with availability in additional markets coming in 2022.

The competitively priced offer allows customers to bundle their internet, internet security, and their direct connection to the cloud – all delivered on one multi-service port. Customers will benefit from the combination of high-performing internet service and multi-layered DDoS protection, which uses advanced technology to identify potential threats before they negatively impact business.

“Shielded Internet Access demonstrates Zayo’s commitment to supporting our customers’ demands by delivering streamlined, best-in-class solutions that are easy to implement,” said Dan Stoll, Managing Director of Regional Networks at Zayo. “Our unmatched global network combined with this new bundle of services provides customers with the secure connectivity that takes them anywhere they need to be in the most convenient, cost-effective way possible.”

In addition to this new product offer, Zayo is continuing investment in and expansion of network infrastructure, including in the markets with first access to Zayo’s new product offer. This includes increasing connections to buildings and data centers, and enabling more high capacity connectivity to public and private sector customers.

The expanded network in Phoenix includes approximately 100 route miles in the West Valley, including Goodyear, Avondale, El Mirage and other surrounding communities, providing customers with high capacity connectivity as well as fiber path diversity. Zayo is also building 200 route miles of fiber in Pinal County, spanning the development areas connecting Phoenix and Tucson, as part of a federal program, known as E-rate, that provides schools, libraries, and consortia funding for internet access.

In the Dallas/Fort Worth area, Zayo has deployed 105 miles of new fiber in 2021 with another 60 miles planned for deployment in 2022. This is in addition to the recently announced 822-mile long haul dark fiber route connecting Dallas to Atlanta, two of the most important data and colocation markets in the country. Two additional long haul routes, one connecting Dallas to  Phoenix to Los Angeles, and another connecting Dallas to Denver, will be completed in the third-quarter of 2022 and will add nearly 2,700 route miles to Zayo’s extensive North American footprint.

In Denver, Zayo has 532 miles of new long haul dark fiber routes providing a connection to Salt Lake City along the I-70 corridor with 177 additional miles of long haul fiber planned for 2022, strengthening Zayo’s existing route between Denver and Dallas. Zayo also enabled 400G wavelength capacity between Denver and Omaha and will complete a 400G wavelength to Salt Lake City by year’s end. A final 400G enabled route connecting Denver to Dallas is scheduled for completion in the first-quarter of 2022.

Zayo continues to invest in and expand its network infrastructure in key markets globally and plans for additional product packages in 2022.
