THine Announces an Extremely Small Redriver for USB4 Active Copper Cables

THine Electronics, Inc the global leader in high-speed serial interface and provider of mixed-signal LSI as well as valuable AI/IoT-based solution, announces delivering samples of an extremely small redriver product, THCE20RD2U11, for USB4 active copper cables (ACCs).

THineโ€™s new redriver, THCE20RD2U11, allows USB4 ACCs to transmit data up to approximately 250 centimeters, three times longer than USB standardโ€™s specified length for 80 centimeters. In addition to the transmitting length, THCE20RD2U11 has almost half area size of existing similar redriver products.

USB4 enables to transmit data reciprocally at the maximum speed of 40 Gpbs, or 40 giga-bit-per-second, 8 times faster than currently penetrated USB3.2Gen1 (SuperSpeed USB) and to supply power of 240W*. Users of computers and peripheral equipment with USB4 can use them simply and consolidatedly. In case that 80-centimeter data transmission is inconvenient, ACCs with THineโ€™s new redrivers contribute to give USB4 use cases significant flexibility.PREDICTIONS SERIES 2022

Features of THineโ€™s USB4 Redriver Product, THCE20RD2U11

  • Supporting USB4 active copper cables
  • CML Redriver (dual channel of input and output)
  • Single power of 3.3V
  • Extremely small package: aWLP35 (2.47mm x 3.41mm)

Power delivery through ACCs depends on the specification of ACCs.
