Tech Mahindra uses the potential of SDN automation and supports Telefónica Deutschland in improving its development and test procedures
Tech Mahindra , a leading provider of services and solutions for digital transformation, consulting and business reengineering, announced the collaboration with Telefónica Deutschland on the digital transformation of Telefónica Germany’s radio relay network with open software-defined networking ( SDN) known.
Telefónica is striving to standardize its administrative interface by working with several providers and partners. Telefónica is supported in this by the professional competence and the skills for continuous integration that Tech Mahindra brings to the partnership. Tech Mahindra is working with the telecommunications company to implement new standards for its DevOps model and to improve its processes and requirements. This also includes ongoing support in managing the service operations for the company’s entire SDN architecture. The project includes the introduction of automated radio link transmission to improve the provision of services and network operation.

Telefónica was able to integrate 30,000 radio links from various providers into the OpenDaylight Controller with the ONF TR-532 interface standard. This also reflects Tech Mahindra’s ambition to invest in open source technologies to accelerate the scaling of networks. By switching to SDN, Telefónica will be able to take over automation functions more easily in the future.
