Rarimo Collaborates With Polygon ID, Spearheading World’s First Multi-Chain Zero Knowledge Proofs For Verified Credentials

Rarimo, an interoperability protocol for multi-chain digital identities and decentralized socials, has announced a collaboration with Polygon ID, the self-sovereign identity infrastructure for web3. The collaboration enables Polygon ID credentials to become multi-chain for the first time ever, and has made every single identity provider using Polygon ID instantly cross-chain.

Previously, the on-chain verification of PolygonID credentials was limited to the user’s origin chain, but following the collaboration with Rarimo, users’ credentials from Polygon are now available on Ethereum, and will extend to other chains in the upcoming weeks.

Under the hood, Polygon ID allows users to generate zero-knowledge proofs for their credentials. Rarimo uses network validators and oracles to replicate the state of these proofs across different networks.

Lasha Antadze, Co-Founder of Rarify Labs, the service provider and community member dedicated to advancing Rarimo, commented, “Polygon ID is at the forefront of digital identity and we are excited to make them multi-chain through this ground-breaking collaboration. Interoperability ensures that users have true ownership over their identities and can interact with whatever dApps in whatever ecosystems they please. Polygon ID users now have this freedom, and we believe that this blueprint will quickly become universal as Web3 social and the use of digital identity expands.”

Silvia Aran, Technical Sales Director of Polygon ID added “One of the main challenges to overcome in the Digital Identity space is the interoperability between networks and identity protocols. This collaboration with Rarimo sets the foundation to enable cross-chain interoperability. Rarimo’s innovative approach allows Polygon ID identities to have a private verification of their identity states across different chains. This breakthrough ensures that users can securely and seamlessly verify their identities across a wide range of blockchain networks.”

Rarimo’s unique infrastructure has enabled hyper cost-effectiveness. The protocol not only batches transactions, and operates a threshold signature scheme which allows for lower fees on destination chains, it also fetches and replicates identity states on-demand, as opposed to continuously synchronizing them across chains.

This groundbreaking innovation from Rarimo was first demonstrated during Polygon’s DevX event at this year’s Ethereum Community Conference (EthCC) in Paris, the largest annual European Ethereum event focused on technology and community. Users were invited to attend the demonstration, where they used their Polygon ID compatible wallets and credentials on the Ethereum chain. Users were also awarded a Soulbound Token (SBT) in celebration of their participation in advancing multi-chain credentials.
