Millennium Corp Unlocks the Power of Infused Analytics With Sisense, Bolstering Accountability Across Its Businesses

Investment firm taps into deep data with embedded analytics platform to shine light on its subsidiaries’ operations

Millennium Corp, a leading private investment group focused on growing successful telecommunications, technology, utilities, and media businesses in New Zealand, Australia, and the Pacific Region, has leveraged Sisense to deliver real-time, accurate data and reports to provide accountability and add significant value across its subsidiaries.

Sisense, the leading AI-driven cloud platform for infusing analytics everywhere, offers Millennium Corp full transparency on the performance of its businesses. By implementing Sisense for the entire group and its subsidiaries, all employees are kept accountable for their activities at scale.

Stuart English, Group IT Manager at Millennium Corp said, “Our branch managers and business leaders use Sisense to glean insights from disparate data, such as foot traffic, data from our rostering systems, as well as sales, inventory, and procurement data from our ERP systems. These insights help us drive improved business performance, enabling better contextual business benchmarking.”

Using Sisense, Millennium Corp is able to access a broader base of data sources to understand the true context of what is happening. Stuart said the company’s data journey began with a need to plug raw data into spreadsheets; something that quickly spurred employee realisation that a singular, easy-to-use, and simple-to-access data dashboard, which is offered by Sisense, was needed.

For its distribution business, Millennium Corp can go back to vendors and provide consolidated insights across its channel base, using Sisense’s reporting tools and platforms. Collecting customer sell-through data is key to the company’s planning process, enabling it to provide vendors with a line of sight, detailing when the product arrives in Australia or New Zealand all the way until it reaches the customer. This allows Millennium Corp to give its businesses broad insights about their product lifecycle.

Stuart said it’s a tremendous value add for vendors because if they were to do it individually, it would need to go through numerous layers internally to digest that information. It’s great motivation for Millennium Corp to look for other ways it can provide similar insights to customers.

With a strong embedded “sales-centric” culture, sales reporting has been key for Millennium Corp’s sales reporting, helping the company align its salespeople and track their KPIs. And, as the group diversified over the years, the company wanted to take advantage of its data. Initially, its reporting platform was tied to its ERP based on sales information, but the company wanted to take it a step further and begin reporting on other operational data as well.

Stuart said the company wanted to meaningfully measure improvement and its overall actions to ensure it was achieving the right outcomes. Today, big data and analytical insights through the Sisense platform are changing the way decisions are made – from everyday business challenges to differentiating the retail company in an effort to deliver improved customer outcomes and gain a competitive advantage.

Rather than relying on historical trends and intuition when maintaining inventory, pricing solutions, or hiring employees, Millennium Corp’s partnerships are now embracing data and analytics for faster and more fact-based decision-making.

“We wanted to move from systems-based reporting to a higher level analytics tool. We wanted a system that can pull the data from multiple sources, digest it, and then provide a top-to-bottom view of the world. Rather than printing out reams of data, we wanted to make it easy for the business to consume data at a very high level while also providing access to granular data as required,” Stuart explained.

Stuart said by leveraging Sisense, the company can overlay the HR data and timesheet data from retail stores to understand where it should be focusing resources to drive the best outcome. Even more, Sisense has enabled Millenium Corp to keep an eye on key retail shrinkage indicators.

Rohan Persaud, Director of Channels and Alliances at Sisense, said it is encouraging to see that Sisense has helped Millennium Corp better understand how its businesses are faring through the power of infused analytics.

“Large investment organisations like Millennium Corp rely on that ‘hard data’ to understand how their subsidiaries are progressing. Sisense provides real-time, up-to-date data through infused analytics to ensure organisations are evolving and maturing. Together, they provide the transparency that is required to operate efficiently and at scale in the complex telco industry,” Rohan said.
