  • KNIME Hub expands community support for sharing and reuse.
  • KNIME Partners adds new third-party extensions and integrations.
  • KNIME Learning introduces self-paced courses and new publications.

Data access and preparation are inevitable basics for generating value from data, and it’s a well-known fact that most practitioners spend the majority of their time accessing, blending or cleaning data. “KNIME is already very powerful in this discipline and one of the reasons it’s used in so many different industries,” explained Michael Berthold, CEO and co-founder of KNIME. “KNIME offers native connectors to access most data sources and to perform whatever transformation needs to be done to data.”

KNIME Analytics Platform

KNIME Analytics Platform is the open source software for creating data science. Intuitive, open and continuously integrating new developments, KNIME makes understanding data and designing data science workflows and reusable components accessible to everyone. New feature highlights focus on making data access and data preparation more powerful and user friendly, including:

  • Improved file handling capabilities with a new File Handling extension reads from and moves data over different file systems within the same workflow.
  • Better user experience with a new node makes table transformation faster with an instant preview interface and other nodes that reduce the number of steps needed in a workflow.
  • Increased performance with Python enhancements makes it easier to share and productionize workflows and components containing Python scripting nodes.
  • Boosted performance based on columnar representation KNIME Columnar Table Backend extension. Data is kept in a compact form, simple data is kept simple, smaller chunks of data are held in-memory, and sharing memory can begin with other programming languages.
