JADAK Launches ThingMagic M7e-Pico, Smallest UHF RFID Module on the Market Using Impinj E310 RAIN RFID Reader Chip

JADAK Launches ThingMagic M7e-Pico, Smallest UHF RFID Module on the Market Using Impinj E310 RAIN RFID Reader Chip

JADAK, a business unit of Novanta Corporation (“Novanta”), announces the release of the ThingMagic M7e-Pico featuring the new Impinj E310 RAIN RFID reader chip. The first in the new M7e series, ThingMagic® Pico is one of the smallest UHF RFID modules on the market, enabling customers to use the chip in extremely small applications such as handheld RFID scanners, wearable RFID devices, surgical hand scanners, mobile RFID printers and smart vending machines. JADAK will work with healthcare OEM’s, retailers and CPG customers to integrate the module into unique applications worldwide.

“The new ThingMagic® M7e-Pico will unlock new IoT device opportunities,” said Sri Sridharan, Impinj senior director of product management. “By leveraging the small size and low power consumption of the Impinj E310 reader chip, JADAK has delivered a module that allows manufacturers to easily add RAIN RFID functionality to devices.”

In addition to its small size (18 x 21 mm (378 mm2), about the size of a U.S. penny, the M7e-Pico boasts ultra-low power consumption, a necessary requirement for mobile RFID printers, handheld or battery-operated devices used in the retail and inventory tracking spaces.

One of the most unique features of the M7e-Pico, as well as all other ThingMagic® modules from JADAK is full Global Certification. JADAK has extensive expertise in this area and does the legwork to obtain these certifications prior to launch, easing the burden of OEMs in obtaining their own regulatory certification.

Additional benefits to customers include accuracy, speed, and the ability to track consumer behaviors over time, allowing for inventory changes to better match customer expectations. And the M7e-Pico is also supported by ThingMagic® Mercury API, a standardized API used across all ThingMagic® products.

“We’re proud to partner with Impinj, a leader in the industry, to develop this truly unique RFID module,” said Harinath Reddy, Sr. R&D Director, RFID, JADAK. “Our retail, healthcare and industrial customers are under extreme pressure to improve the overall customer experience. The M7e-Pico helps them to do this without sacrificing consistent use of their devices and scanners, all at an affordable price point.”
