Independent Research Firm Names Avocado Systems One of the Most Significant Providers in Microsegmentation Evaluation
Avocado ”excels at process-level security”, according to report

Avocado Systems, an innovator in application security, today announced that independent research firm Forrester has ranked it a Contender in The Forrester New Wave™: Microsegmentation, Q1 2022, report—one of only nine top emerging vendors evaluated in the microsegmentation space. Forrester considers microsegmentation essential for Zero Trust private networks and recognized Avocado for its software-process-level microsegmentation, which protects against sophisticated attacks like ZeroDay, APT, Log4j and ransomware.

According to the report, Avocado Systems:

  • “ringfences at the process level, providing an extra level of Zero Trust granularity”;
  • “is one of the only vendors that stops attackers using shell exploits and other payloads from moving laterally across explicitly allowed layer 4 paths”; and
  • “[is] ideal for organizations that need deep protection on critical applications.”

Forrester notes that “Avocado customers appreciate the interprocess view of applications not available in other tools and the ability to provide protection without changing the applications themselves.”

Avocado enforces Zero Trust security by fully automating application and API process microsegmentation, which isolates software processes at the deepest level and enables their protection. Avocado’s “observability of the unknown” detects the most sophisticated attacks where traditional signature- and pattern-based approaches fail.

“Avocado is proud to be included by Forrester on this short list of critical security solution-providers alongside global brands, evaluating Avocado, in our opinion, as an equal,” said Chris Formant, CEO of Avocado. “We’re a startup, but Avocado is exceeding many advanced players in offering high-fidelity Zero Trust measures and excelling in the most innovative directions—such as process-level security and deep protection of critical applications.”

As a runtime security, Avocado continuously detects vulnerabilities and attacks at the “moment of a crime,” not post factum, and includes subsequent protection and reporting. Avocado is a security system that discovers, monitors and protects cloud workloads, applications and APIs across entire distributed application ecosystems.
