“To help secure the Nation’s Federal Information Systems by certifying that Federal Workforce members understand and can apply appropriate Federal IT security standards.”

“We are very honored to have earned ANAB accreditation under ISO/IEC 17024,” said Jim Wiggins, FITSI’s executive director. “Obtaining this accreditation shows our dedication to meeting a rigorous international standard in how we develop and implement our FITSP credentialing program, which is used by Federal employees, contractors, and military personnel. The ANAB accreditation allows government agencies, corporations, and individuals to have a high degree of trust in those certified by FITSI. We’ve always known our FITSP certification program was top-notch, but this accreditation provides an independent third-party validation that FITSP is a ‘best in class’ cybersecurity certification program.”

The purpose of the FITSP credential is to make Federal IT systems more secure by assuring that Federal civilian, military, and/or contractor staff who manage and operate them understand and can apply the appropriate Federal IT security standards. The FITSP certification program is role-based and documents the qualifications and specialized Federal IT security understandings of auditors, designers, managers, and operators of federal IT systems. By earning the FITSP certification credential, candidates will have demonstrated an in-depth knowledge of Federal IT security management, operational and technical control requirements as measured by the standards and guidelines of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), as well as other relevant Federal statutes and regulations.
