Concentric AI Becomes Member of Microsoft Intelligent Security Association (MISA)

Concentric Inc., a leading vendor of intelligent AI-based solutions for protecting business-critical data, announced that it has joined the Microsoft Intelligent Security Association (MISA).

The Microsoft Intelligent Security Association is an ecosystem of independent software vendors and Managed Security Services providers that have integrated their security products with Microsoft’s to better defend against increasing cyber-threats. Concentric AI was nominated to MISA for seamlessly integrating its award-winning Semantic Intelligence  solution for data access governance into the Microsoft Information Protection (MIP) platform.

Semantic Intelligence provides seamless content discovery, data categorization, and risk assessment. With Concentric, Microsoft customers have another option to easily find, evaluate, and protect business-critical data, including private information, intellectual property, sensitive business documents, and more, across their Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 environments.

“Concentric’s advanced deep-learning technology solves the ongoing challenges of cloud data security and access governance,” said Karthik Krishnan, Concentric CEO. “We are excited to be a part of MISA and showcase how our integration with MIP delivers simple, autonomous data discovery and categorization for complete data protection. Now, joint customers have the tools they need to manage risk without rules or manual document tagging.”

Concentric’s integration with MIP helps customers quickly scan data to establish least-privileges access controls, build ransomware resiliency, and comply with regulatory demands for private data protection. Semantic Intelligence eliminates hard-to-maintain rules and intrusive end-user document tagging by leveraging advanced artificial intelligence (AI) techniques. The solution operates continuously and autonomously, processing data accurately and without IT overhead.

“Visibility into the volume and location of sensitive data is critical, especially for remote workforces. Members of the Microsoft Intelligent Security Association, like Concentric, integrate via data connectors to help customers enable information governance, eDiscovery, and communication compliance,” said Alym Rayani, General Manager, Product Marketing, Microsoft Compliance. “This gives our shared customers access to the data they need to manage compliance and risk management in Microsoft 365.”

Concentric’s Semantic Intelligence features the company’s patent-pending Risk Distance  analysis technology to assess risk and remediate vulnerabilities in individual files. Risk Distance identifies oversharing, inappropriate third-party access, wrong locations, or file misclassification by comparing each document with other documents in the same category. This means organizations can benefit from the expertise of content owners without intrusive classification mandates, inaccurate rules, or burdensome ongoing policy maintenance.

Semantic Intelligence, Risk Distance, and Concentric’s integrations with Azure and Microsoft 365 are available immediately.

With Concentric, organizations can finally address their unmet data security needs by discovering and protecting business-critical content. Concentric protects intellectual property, financial documents, PII/PCI content, customer data, business confidential data and more, across on-premises and cloud-based data stores. The Concentric Semantic Intelligence Data Access Governance solution uses deep learning and Risk Distance  analysis to accurately categorize data, assess risk and remediate security issues – without relying on upfront rules or complex configuration. Concentric is venture backed by leading Silicon Valley VCs and is headquartered in San Jose, Calif.
