Educational Franchise CompuChild Receives Approved Vendor Status with the Round Rock Independent School District in Texas

CompuChild franchisees have been offering STEM, and STEAM-focused after-school enrichment classes for children in the United States and Canada for more than 25 years. While the traditional model of CompuChild focused on teaching at dedicated centers, after-school centers, community centers, and birthday parties, the franchise has made strong inroads to collaborate with public schools and school districts over the past decade. CompuChild added another milestone in furthering its collaboration with public schools as it became an approved vendor for offering after-school enrichment classes with the Round Rock Independent School District (RRISD) in Texas.

With close to 47,000 students enrolled, RRISD ranks among the top 25 largest school districts in Texas. The school district’s vision of “inspiring students to learn; empowering students for life,” aligns perfectly with CompuChild’s focus to help children become lifelong learners. One of RRISD’s strategic plan goals is to promote academic excellence through learning and enrichment opportunities that engage and inspire every student. A wide variety of hands-on, interactive, and inspiring after-school enrichment classes from CompuChild in topics ranging from STEM, STEAM, entrepreneurship, communication, and ethics can help RRISD in their efforts.

Talking about the partnership with RRISD, the President of CompuChild stated, “There are lots of uncertainties about the skills that are going to be relevant in a world that is going to be dominated by emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML). While we expect STEM and STEAM to continue to be key drivers of future jobs, we strongly believe that an entrepreneurial mindset, effective communication, and ethical values are critical for thriving in the fast-changing work environment of the 21st century. RRISD is closely aligned with the growing needs of all the schools and students in its community. Their commitment to working with CompuChild is a strong recognition of the quality of our programs. In late 2022, we announced our intent to target Texas as our growth market for 2023. The addition of our new franchisee in the North Austin territory and her confirmation as an approved vendor at RRISD is evidence of our continued commitment to growth in Texas. Since other school districts in Texas are also governed by similar state competitive bid laws, we believe this win with RRISD will pave the path for other present and future Texas-based CompuChild franchisees.”

Expressing her excitement about being part of RRISD’s after-school enrichment programs, CompuChild’s North Austin franchisee Ms. Hiray commented, “I have had a huge appreciation for RRISD’s STEAM initiative as the district believes that STEAM education is an approach to teaching and learning that removes the traditional barriers separating the disciplines of science, technology, engineering, and math. The district also believes that each of these disciplines is creatively enhanced through art integration of real-world learning experiences. With CompuChild’s primary focus on Entrepreneurial STEAM™, I could not have found a franchise that was better aligned with my school district’s focus. I strongly believe that CompuChild of North Austin can add meaningfully to RRISD’s STEAM initiative through its after-school enrichment classes in logic and critical thinking3D printing, robotics with programming, 2D and 3D video game design, effective blogging, stop motion animationelectrical circuitsclean technology, and many more. The vendor qualification process at RRISD was quite thorough but as a CompuChild franchisee, I received strong support and guidance from the corporate in fulfilling all the requirements. CompuChild’s ongoing collaboration with organizations such as PlayCV in the Castro Valley Unified School DistrictCalifornia, and Dublin Partners in Education in the Dublin Unified School DistrictCalifornia was a huge plus as it demonstrated prior experience and understanding in working with similar organizations. I could highlight CompuChild’s growing list of awards and honors and STEM Provider Certification from Cognia to emphasize the quality of our franchise and its programs. I am looking forward to collaborating and growing with the school district by bringing highly differentiated and unique enrichment programs to the students in my community.”
