Sequitur Labs First to Provide Chip-to-Cloud Embedded Security in Support of New NVIDIA Jetson Orin Platform

EmSPARK Security Suite for Jetson AGX Orin helps protect autonomous machines at the edge

Sequitur Labs announced that its EmSPARK Security Suite for the NVIDIA Jetson edge AI platform has been qualified with the new Jetson AGX Orin 32 GB module to support trial deployments of the embedded solution that provides next-level AI performance for next-generation robotics.

“As NVIDIA brings server-class AI performance to devices at the edge, we are pleased that EmSPARK is able to ensure these devices are protected with best-in-class security capabilities”

As the first chip-to-cloud embedded security solution to provide support for the Jetson AGX Orin module, EmSPARK provides developers with trusted applications supporting tools needed to protect advanced robotics and edge AI applications. EmSPARK supports the four Jetson Orin-based production modules announced by NVIDIA, which offer customers a full range of server-class AI performance. The Jetson AGX Orin 32 GB module is available today, with the 64 GB version becoming available in November. Two Orin NX production modules are coming later this year. The solution is fully integrated with Sequitur’s EmPOWER™ Lifecycle Management platform.

Powered by the same AI software and cloud-native workflows used across other NVIDIA platforms, Jetson AGX Orin delivers the performance and power efficiency that businesses need to build autonomous machines at the edge for manufacturing, logistics, retail, service, agriculture, smart city, healthcare and life sciences.

NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin modules deliver up to 275 TOPS of AI performance with power configurable between 15W and 60W. This provides up to 8X the performance of Jetson AGX Xavier in the same compact form factor for robotics and other autonomous machine use cases. Jetson Orin NX modules deliver up to 100 TOPS of AI performance in the smallest Jetson form factor, with power configurable between 10W and 25W. This gives up to 3X the performance of Jetson AGX Xavier and up to 5X the performance of Jetson Xavier NX.

As with previous platforms, Jetson AGX Orin provides the tools necessary to get started in developing features and functions of edge applications. Manufacturers still need to develop their own production-quality Trusted Execution Environment (TEE) and applications for cryptography, key management, storage, cloud integration and AI model protection. Sequitur provides all of these with the EmSPARK Security Suite and the EmPOWER™ Lifecycle Management platform.

Sequitur Labs’ EmSPARK Security Suite is designed to address solutions in industries where embedded security is paramount — in particular, protection of AI models at the edge. Supporting security functions for encryption, storage, data transmission and key/certificate management are delivered by EmSPARK and housed in a microprocessor’s secure memory partition. IoT hardware manufacturers use EmSPARK to easily implement device-level security by addressing technical, IP, supply chain and business process challenges. Developers can build applications that use secure resources without having to become experts in cryptography and complex chip-level security technologies.

“As NVIDIA brings server-class AI performance to devices at the edge, we are pleased that EmSPARK is able to ensure these devices are protected with best-in-class security capabilities,” said Philip Attfield, co-founder and CEO of Sequitur Labs. “We remain steadfast in our support of NVIDIA’s edge computing platforms and work diligently to ensure that EmSPARK is among the first to enable embedded security for the projects that developers create from incorporating these modules. With the rise in edge-based autonomous machines and robotics, the need to ensure they remain protected throughout their lifespan has never been more critical.”
