Zaloni Redefines Traditional Data Catalogs with Active Data Hubs

New Active Data Hub solution accelerates time-to-value at scale for business teams

Zaloni, the leader in enterprise-grade data management for hybrid or multi-cloud environments, announced its new Active Data Hub solution, which enables enterprises to rapidly derive value from data for key business initiatives through a single unified platform, the Zaloni Data Platform (ZDP). More than a traditional, “passive” data catalog, Zaloni’s Active Data Hub empowers users to interact with, enrich and provision data from a curated, managed catalog that hosts data from any source. Further, Zaloni’s enterprise-grade Active Data Hub enables businesses to strategically launch the solution with a single line of business, deliver immediate business value and then expand to other use cases.

“The data catalog market is exploding as companies realize they can derive as much as double the value from their data with a curated, enterprise-wide inventory of data assets that helps users find and understand data – but we think that’s still not enough,” said Scott Gidley, Zaloni’s Vice President of Product Management. “Zaloni’s Active Data Hub solution enables business users to not only understand the data, but use it to deliver immediate business results without sacrificing data quality, governance and security.”

Zaloni’s Active Data Hub Delivers High Productivity and ROI

Zaloni’s Active Data Hub solution provides a breadth of data management capabilities that enterprises need to move fast. The solution eliminates the often steep challenge of integrating a data catalog into an enterprise’s large ecosystem of self-service tools to build a unified data supply chain. Zaloni’s Active Data Hub delivers greater productivity and ROI by serving as both the data catalog and the starting point of self-service activities, including data transformations and data provisioning. Zaloni’s Active Data Hub with ZDP provides functionality around three key areas:

Unified data catalog: Discover, catalog and ingest data from sources across and beyond the enterprise, including relational database management systems (RDBMS), data lakes and big data. Use the catalog to search, filter and group datasets based on all relevant business and technical metadata. New to the ZDP 5.1 release is an improved catalog view that allows users to customize the types of metadata that are highlighted on the quick view of the catalog. This allows users to gain productivity in how they view and interact with the catalog.

Data preparation and enrichment: Increase productivity and time-to-value by allowing data consumers to prepare or enrich data directly from the catalog and write it to an analytic reporting environment, versus going back and forth between applications. As new data sets are enriched or “actioned,” they are automatically cataloged, providing continuous evolution and auditing of data assets.

Data provisioning: Deliver business data for immediate consumption by allowing data consumers to shop for data sets, add them to a shopping cart and provision the data for use in an existing enterprise data warehouse (EDW) or data mart, provision to the cloud, or enable data to be accessed from data visualization tools. ZDP 5.1 now provides native support for cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake and Amazon Redshift, as well as SFTP options for publishing content in a more flexible way.

Zaloni Active Data Hub Supports Digital Transformation

Leading enterprises in data-rich sectors including financial services, pharmaceuticals and telecommunications, have used Zaloni’s Active Data Hub to transform their business models by leveraging data for new revenue streams/data monetization, new analytics use cases and regulatory compliance.

“Our customers gain greater competitive advantage in their industries with Zaloni’s Active Data Hub solution, which allows different lines of business to scale increasingly sophisticated and transformative data initiatives,” said Gidley. “The Active Data Hub solution was built based on experience with customers who were dealing with complex data environments and it has been designed to rapidly deliver value to enterprises.”
