Reporting to Bill Largent, chairman and CEO at Veeam, Pillay will spearhead the company’s growth strategy in the region. Veeam recently announced its Q4’2020 global results, posting another quarter of double-digit growth with an annual recurring revenue (ARR) of 22% year-over-year (YoY) and 24% percent YoY increase in APJ.  Further proof of Veeam’s leading Cloud Data Management Platform was displayed in the most recent IDC Semi-Annual Software Tracker for Data Replication & Protection 1H’20[1] which showed that Veeam has delivered the fastest revenue growth year-over-year in 1H’20, among the top five vendors, the combined revenues of non-top five vendors and overall market average.

“Shiva’s exceptional skill set and aptitude for fostering and maintaining meaningful relationships will no doubt contribute to Veeam cementing its position as a key market player in 2021 and beyond,” commented Bill Largent, chairman and CEO at Veeam.  “His determination to drive impactful change within the industry and his experience in demonstrating this so far within the company makes Shiva the perfect candidate for this role. Shiva is a born leader, and I have every confidence he will lead our APJ team to great success this year.”

Formerly in roles at The SCE Group, Prevalent Inc. and SevOne, Pillay brings to the role experience across sales, consulting, and revenue generation. He joined Veeam in mid-2018 as vice president of sales and field operations of APJ, responsible for leading all Inside Sales, Cloud Service Providers, Channels, Alliances, Pre-Sales and Professional Services functions across the region.

On his appointment, Pillay said: “Our APJ business is growing at an exceptional rate, which would not be possible without the continued support of our customers and partner ecosystem.  We have a world-class team from senior leadership through to every Veeam employee in the region, with a sole focus on helping our customers accelerate their Cloud Data Management journey.  In 2021, we are well positioned to further extend our growth position across the region.  I am excited to further invest in our partner and alliances ecosystem and work with the Veeam team to bring our new innovative solutions to market in a way our customers want to consume them.”
