Telecommunications leader to centralize and simplify HR processes for its 80,000-strong global workforce
Nokia has deployed Oracle Fusion Cloud Human Capital Management (HCM) to consolidate 14 different Human Resources applications on the cloud as part of a company-wide digitalization program. With Oracle Cloud HCM, Nokia will be able to centralize and simplify HR processes for the company’s 80,000+ workforce across 115 countries. The new HR platform, named NokiaME, will replace on-premises systems previously operated at business unit or country level and streamline more than 100 HR processes in a single integrated HR management system.

“The rollout of NokiaME represents a significant step towards a new era of HR at Nokia. It delivers a true digital transformation, spanning all of our HR functions and positively impacting the experience of our entire global workforce,” said Lisbeth Nielsen, Head of People Business Services, Nokia.
“The Oracle platform enables us to integrate and harmonize our HR processes, removing complexity and enabling our HR function to respond with speed and insight to the evolving needs of our employees and business. It also provides a strong foundation for us to build employee digital experiences with true user-centricity, vastly simplifying the way we work and the tools we use, and providing a seamless and intuitive employee experience that serves people at every step of their employment lifecycle. With NokiaME, we are delivering on our key promise to our employees: ‘Your work—but simpler.’”
“In addition to the critical transformation of our employee experience, we see many benefits from a digital transformation perspective. Oracle HCM is a SaaS (Software as a Service) solution which means we are already getting regular updates from Oracle to ensure the system stays secure, stable and can meet changing business needs fast – aligned with global standards. There is also a lot of value from Oracle’s traditional and generative AI innovation delivered with the platform that allows us to continually improve,” said Irina Starikova, Head of Enterprise Applications, Nokia.
Oracle Cloud HCM will enable Nokia to improve the employee experience, generate better workforce insights, and provide a consistent approach to HR management across the company. With the Oracle platform Nokia is also able to introduce more automation and self-service processes to reduce manual administration and enhance employee productivity.

With AI embedded in HR processes and hundreds of new capabilities added each quarter, Oracle Cloud HCM also enables Nokia to take advantage of the latest innovations and best practices to empower Nokia employees, people managers and HR professionals.
“At a time when talent has become a key differentiator for businesses, Oracle supports Nokia’s goal of putting employee care, and the employee experience, at the center of their growth and leadership strategy,” said Cormac Watters, Executive Vice President, Applications, EMEA, Oracle. “Natively built for the cloud, Oracle Cloud HCM enables Nokia to connect every HR process, from hire to retire, across its global organization. By connecting all HR data on a single platform, Nokia’s HR teams have access to a single source of truth to inform their people strategy and improve decision-making.”
The implementation is managed by Oracle PartnerNetwork member Tata Consultancy Services.
“Nokia’s transition to Oracle Cloud HCM delivers immediate and tangible benefits for its employee and human resources experience,” said Vikram Karakoti, Global Head, Enterprise Solutions, TCS. “TCS has worked with Oracle for decades and will continue to be an active partner in the deployment of its SaaS solutions. We stand poised to harness our technical expertise and deep industry knowledge to deliver holistic digital transformation for our customers.”
