Hollander Techniek Invests In Business Continuity With Veeam

Engineering Specialist Saves 200 Hours Of Manual Time With A Combined Veeam, Netapp And Microsoft Azure Solution

Veeam® Software, the leader in Backup solutions that deliver Cloud Data Management™, announces that Hollander Techniek, a technical integrator that specializes in collaborative and sustainable engineering solutions, has modernized its business continuity and disaster recovery (DR) strategy with Cloud Data Management, reducing the cost and time IT staff spend on managing and storing data. Veeam simplified the IT management enabling Hollander Techniek to drive operational efficiencies and saved them more than 200 hours of manual time, allowing its IT team to spend more time adding real value to the business, while also delivering more reliable services by eliminating unplanned downtime. Hollander Techniek installed Veeam Availability Suite™ and Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365 alongside NetApp’s Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI) solution that was built-on NetApp Solidfire.

Legacy backup solutions were no longer fit-for-purpose and undermined Hollander Techniek’s business continuity and DR strategy. To ensure the company could meet recovery time objectives (RTOs) and recovery point objectives (RPOs), it needed a solution that would strengthen its ability to minimize downtime and seamlessly integrate with Microsoft Azure.

“Unplanned downtime is never an option for us. Data drives everything we do and everything our customers do, so it has to be available all the time,” said Johan Logtenberg, IT Project Manager at Hollander Techniek. “Veeam’s backup solutions for Cloud Data Management give us the most comprehensive data protection possible. We’ve eliminated our risk for unplanned downtime by reducing RTOs by 99% and RPOs by 75%, saving us more than 200 man hours each year and allowing the IT team to focus on adding real value to the business.”

Hollander Techniek is an engineering powerhouse that maximizes efficiency, productivity and flexibility for its customers through purpose-built engineering solutions. Unplanned downtime can be disastrous, leading to drops in productivity, reputational damage and financial loss.

Veeam backs up 51TB across 86 VMware vSphere virtual machines (VMs) on-premises from NetApp HCI and NetApp SolidFire Storage Snapshots and replicates them to Microsoft Azure. Integrating seamlessly with NetApp, Veeam’s solution reduces RTOs from 1.5 hours to five seconds (by 99%) and RPOs from one hour to 15 minutes (75%).

“Businesses are looking to de-risk by investing in backup for Cloud Data Management to improve business continuity, accelerate disaster recovery and increase their organisational agility,” said Ronald Ooms, Regional Vice President, Benelux at Veeam. “Veeam Availability Suite is fully compatible with cloud services such as Azure and incredible easy to use. It is the best choice available for businesses looking to invest in a digital infrastructure that drives real competitive advantage.”
