David Soares of Zyxel Networks Captures Coveted 2022 CRN Channel Chief Recognition

Zyxel Networks, a leader in delivering secure, AI- and cloud-powered business and home networking solutions, announced that CRN, a brand of The Channel Company, has named David Soares, Executive Vice President Channel Sales and Marketing North America, to its 2022 Channel Chiefs list. CRN’s annual Channel Chiefs project identifies top IT channel vendor executives who continually demonstrate expertise, influence and innovation in channel leadership.

“We’re thrilled to recognize the tireless work and unwavering commitment these honorees put into fostering outstanding business innovation and building strong partner programs to drive channel engagement and success.”

A panel of CRN editors selected the honorees for their channel dedication, industry stature and accomplishments as channel advocates. The 2022 Channel chiefs are influential leaders who continue to shape the IT channel with innovative strategies, programs and partnerships.

A senior business executive with over 30 years of experience in the information technology industry, Soares is responsible for driving the awareness and growth of the company’s channel business among small- and medium-sized businesses and service providers in North America. Under Soares’ direction, Zyxel provided much-needed support for partners that were forced to close or partially close their business in 2021 due to the impact of the COVID pandemic. By implementing a one-year extension to the partner level qualification timeframes for its Zyxel Authorized Partner Program (ZAP), Zyxel gave its partners welcomed breathing room to enable them to maintain their partner status. The ability to continue to leverage program benefits such as distribution discounts, deal registration and tech support helped the companies partners quickly recover from a very difficult period.

“2021 was a very difficult year for many of our channel partners with the ongoing impact of the COVID pandemic creating a variety of major challenges to their operations and revenue-generating activities,” explained Gordon Yang, President at Zyxel Networks. “By understanding the needs and challenges that our channel partners were facing, David implemented key adjustments to our partner program that would enable our struggling partners to stay competitive and generate revenue in an economic environment that was, and still is, in the recovery phase.”

“CRN’s 2022 Channel Chiefs recognition is given exclusively to the foremost channel executives who consistently design, promote, and execute effective partner programs and strategies,” said Blaine Raddon, CEO of The Channel Company. “We’re thrilled to recognize the tireless work and unwavering commitment these honorees put into fostering outstanding business innovation and building strong partner programs to drive channel engagement and success.”
