#1 Fujitsu Chosen for an R&D Project to realize LLMs that Enable Logical Reasoning

Fujitsu has announced its selection for the “Research and Development Project of the Enhanced Infrastructures for Post-5G Information and Communication Systems/Development of post-5G Information and Communication Systems.” It is a subsidy project launched by Japan’s New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO) under Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry’s (METI) Generative AI Accelerator Challenge (GENIAC) initiative. This project will enhance Japan’s capability to develop generative AI. Fujitsu will start research and development on technology combining knowledge graphs with large language models to develop LLMs for logical reasoning.

What will Fijutsu focus on as a part of R&D?
  • Focusing on the problem posed by hallucinations in large language models (LLMs), a phenomenon in which generative AI creates plausible but incorrect or unrelated output.
  • Aims to realize a new technology that strengthens the reliability of LLMs by combining LLMs with knowledge graphs, ultimately enabling the application of LLMs in operations that require high levels of compliance and explainability
  • Anticipates that the newly developed technology will enable the realization of an LLM for logical reasoning that creates clear and comprehensible outputs.

Mastercard and Salesforce have announced a new integration that enhances trust across the ecosystem. This integration will help customers improve the resolution of transaction disputes as well as lower costs associated with resolving them.

What will the integration offer?

  • Streamline the way issuers, such as banks and other financial institutions’ managers, view transaction data. This will enable a faster and more effective response to dispute inquiries.
  • Integrate Salesforce Financial Services Cloud (FSC) with Mastercard’s dispute resolution services. This will provide a powerful one-stop shop for managing disputes, intake, reporting and preventing cyberattacks.

#3 SAP and NVIDIA Expands partnership Focus on Boosting Enterprise customers’ Ability

SAP SE and NVIDIA have announced a partnership expansion to accelerate generative AI adoption across enterprise applications powering global industries.  The companies collaborate to build and deliver SAP Business AI, including scalable, business-specific generative AI capabilities inside the Joule copilot.  The generative AI hub facilitates relevant, reliable and responsible business AI and provides instant access to a broad range of large language models (LLMs).

This partnership is part of SAP’s ongoing effort to integrate generative AI directly into the applications driving global businesses. It will help customers scale generative AI capabilities across their organizations. SAP will leverage the NVIDIA generative AI foundry service to optimize LLMs for domain-specific scenarios and introduce applications featuring new NVIDIA NIM microservices. SAP and NVIDIA plan to make these integrated capabilities generally available by the end of 2024.
