#1 Google Announce Cameyo’s Acquisition for running Windows apps on ChromeOS

Google has acquired Cameyo, a developer of virtualization tools for running Windows apps on ChromeOS hardware. The acquisition reflects Google’s view of the potential of virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI). Last year, the company announced a partnership with Cameyo to introduce seamless, fully integrated virtual application delivery on ChromeOS, giving users secure, easy, and familiar access to data and files within virtual applications.

Significance of the Acquisition

When combined with Cameyo’s technology, ChromeOS enables businesses to accelerate the transition to web-based technology. How?

  • Streamlining application deployment: Virtualized apps can be easily deployed and accessed across the entire organization without regard for device or location.
  • Enhancing security: Both ChromeOS and Cameyo have zero-trust security, which culminates in comprehensive protection of data and systems from vulnerabilities.
  • Improving Productivity: Employees can quickly and easily access necessary applications directly from the ChromeOS shelf as Progressive Web Apps (PWAs), completely removing compatibility issues, poor performance, or the requirement of navigating through a virtual desktop.
  • Lowering IT costs: Streamlining application management and support processes and eliminating infrastructure requisites result in significant cost savings.

#4 AlgoSec’s New Double-Layered Solution Reduces Critical Cloud Security Blind Spots

AlgoSec, a global cybersecurity leader, has introduced a new release of its revolutionary Prevasio Cloud Security platform. The new release delivers the first Double-Layered Cloud Security solution to address the paradigm shift in cloud network security, offering comprehensive protection against the ever-evolving landscape of cyber threats.

Network security is the backbone of any cloud estate. As businesses increasingly migrate to cloud environments, the complexity of network security increases, which means the need for robust defensive measures has never been more critical. Traditional Cloud Native Application Protection Platforms (CNAPP) alone are not sufficient to secure the entire cloud infrastructure. Overlooking network misconfigurations also poses significant risks to both security groups and native cloud firewalls.

#7 Netspring Launches Product and Customer Journey Analytics Powered by Snowflake

NetSpring has announced at Snowflake’s annual user conference, Snowflake Data Cloud Summit 2024, the launch of Product and Customer Journey Analytics which Snowflake powers. The new application will empower product-led companies with cost-effective and business-impactful analytics, leveraging all product and customer data in their Snowflake AI Data Cloud to build better products and deliver superior customer experiences.

Benefits of the News Platform:

  • Standardize on the AI Data Cloud to be the central source of truth for all data including product instrumentation events, avoiding the need to send data out of their secure Snowflake to external SaaS services.
  • Capture and store all raw event data in Snowflake in a cost-effective way. By leveraging the elastic compute capabilities of Snowflake, customers pay based on consumption, rather than paying by event volume in traditional systems.
  • Overcome the limitations of existing first-generation product analytics that only provide simple, templated analytics on siloed copies of data from limited product-only channels. With NetSpring, customers can easily analyze across all their product and customer data in Snowflake that results in more business-impactful analytics. They can tie all customer experiences across all touch points to business outcomes such as revenue.
  • Build trust in numbers by using a single tool, NetSpring, on top of the single source of truth, Snowflake. This gives users confidence to make business decisions based on the insights from data.
  • Increase time to analytic insights avoiding repeated back-and-forth between business and data teams working on different tools. With NetSpring on Snowflake, business users can self-serve and collaboratively work with data teams to build analytics in the same tool working off the same data.
