Confluent Hires Seasoned SaaS Veteran Larry Shurtz as Chief Revenue Officer
Alyssa Henry, executive vice president, Square joins Confluent’s board of directors

Confluent, Inc., the platform for data in motion, announced that Larry Shurtz has joined the company as its chief revenue officer (CRO) and Alyssa Henry has joined its board of directors. Alyssa has played key roles in the development of some of the more significant technologies of our time—from Amazon S3 to Square’s Seller platform—and will be a welcome addition to Confluent’s board of directors. Larry is a seasoned go-to-market leader with a unique portfolio of experience and will lead Confluent’s global commercial and enterprise sales teams, reporting to Erica Ruliffson Schultz, president of field operations.

Larry has more than 25 years of experience in the technology and enterprise software industry leading both enterprise and commercial GTM organizations. Most recently, Larry was the executive vice president, enterprise North America, at Salesforce where he led a 1,300 person team to $ 2.1B in revenue. Previously, he led Salesforce’s Financial Services and Healthcare & Life Sciences organizations where his team launched the first purpose-built vertical solution, Financial Services Cloud. Prior to Salesforce, Larry was an area vice president at Oracle where he led national teams in both the consumer packaged goods and aerospace industries.

Alyssa Henry has served as Seller Lead for Square, Inc., a provider of software, hardware, and financial services for small businesses and individuals, since 2015. She oversees global engineering, product management, design, sales, marketing, partnerships, and support for Square’s seller-facing software and financial services products. From 2014 to 2015, she served as Square’s head of infrastructure. Prior to Square, she served in various positions with Amazon.com, Inc. from 2006 to 2014, including as vice president of Amazon Web Services Storage Services, where she led services including Amazon S3, Amazon EBS, and Amazon Lambda. Before Amazon, Alyssa spent 12 years at Microsoft Corporation working on databases and data access technologies in a variety of engineering, program management, and product unit management roles. Alyssa started her career as a developer in the financial services industry. She has served as a member of the board of directors of Unity Technologies, since December 2018, and of Intel Corporation since January 2019.
