Comtrend, a leading Broadband CPE manufacturer and solution provider to regional and rural Communications Service Providers (CSPs), announced a partnership with personalized smart services pioneer Plume®, to rapidly expand the availability and speed-to-market of Smart Home Services to residential broadband subscribers throughout North America.

The new partnership combines Comtrend’s thirty years of tenured relationships with regional and rural CSPs in North America, and its steadfast commitment to emerging gateway technologies, with Plume’s SaaS experience platform which has revolutionized the way that service providers are monetizing the smart home.

Shared customers will initially benefit from the integration of OpenSync™ into five new WiFi 6 enabled Comtrend Gateways with sample availability targeted to start Q1, 2022.

These Gateways include:

1. VR-3071 VDSL2 with WiFi 6 and a Gigabit WAN Port
2. PRT-6301 Ethernet (Fiber-Ready) with WiFi 6 and a Gigabit WAN Port
3. PBL-6201 VDSL2 Bonded (up to35b Bonding) with WiFi 6 and a 2.5 Gigabit WAN Port
4. PRT-6302 Ethernet (Fiber-Ready) with WiFi 6 and a 2.5 Gigabit WAN Port
5. PRT-6351 Ethernet (Fiber-Ready) with Tri-Band WiFi 6 and a 2.5 Gigabit WAN Port
