“This is an important milestone for the company, and one that we think will make it easier and more compelling for Java developers to engage with Azul”

“This is an important milestone for the company, and one that we think will make it easier and more compelling for Java developers to engage with Azul,” said Scott Sellers, co-founder, president and CEO, Azul. “When companies adopt the Azul Platform based on OpenJDK, they dramatically reduce their Java infrastructure and support costs, improve application performance, and enable development teams to focus on innovation rather than troubleshooting. We hear this over and over again, and it’s why we continue to gain momentum.”

Today’s digital transformation requires embracing software and leveraging the cloud as the key drivers of competitive advantage. And while the modern cloud enterprise creates incredible possibilities for business, it also exposes new issues around stability, security, performance, and cost. With over a third of today’s business applications built using Java as well as the proliferation of Java-based technologies (Cassandra, Kafka, Solr, Elasticsearch, Hadoop/Hbase, Spark, Ignite, Hazelcast, Tomcat, JBoss, ZooKeeper, etc.) used to run and support modern, big data applications and analytics, all deployed on a mix of public, private and hybrid clouds, the modern cloud enterprise is top of mind—and Azul is uniquely positioned to support companies along this journey.

“We’re the only company that is 100% focused on Java,” said Gil Tene, co-founder and CTO, Azul. “This is our business. This is the only thing we do. And it’s what we excel at. We participate in all aspects of the Java industry, we listen to our customers, and we bend over backwards to make it work for them. That’s what we’re known for.”

“When you provide 3 billion web pages a day, you need a whole lot of servers,” says Ariel Pizetsky vice president of IT, Taboola. “The less servers you have, the better the economics work. My IT footprint has a huge impact on my hosting costs, my running costs, and my ability to serve recommendations. Azul’s performance improvements translate into huge infrastructure savings and simplification by having less servers.”
