Atos Announces Success of EU Project inteGRIDy With Effective Energy Solutions to Support Transition to Green Energy

Atos announces the successful conclusion of the European-funded project inteGRIDy. This project investigates a set of digital solutions to facilitate the optimal and dynamic operation of the energy distribution grid, and as such is key to achieving the transition to green energy. Atos led the consortium of 30 partners.

inteGRIDy integrates cutting-edge technologies, solutions and mechanisms in a scalable cross-functional framework of replicable solutions, to connect existing energy networks with diverse stakeholders, both operators and consumers, to facilitate optimal and dynamic operation of the distribution grid.

Co-ordinated by Atos, inteGRIDy successfully carried out 10 pilot tests in specific real-life scenarios across 8 EU countries in order to assess and validate the developed technologies’ performance. This successful validation now opens up an optimal and dynamic operation of the piloted distribution grids, including novel collaborative distributed storage schemes within an increasing share of renewable energies.

Key results include the successful development of:

  • InteGRIDy cross-modular functional platform – integrating the 30 different software tools from the different project partners to provide intelligent capabilities to the distribution network.
  • inteGRIDy Solution Space – this enables fluid communication in a common virtual environment and complements the 10 versions deployed in the project pilots.
  • InteGRIDy business modeling and replicability tool – an easy-to-use tool for automated business model identification for energy solutions, including a database for replicability that analyzes the scalability and scores of various technologies in different countries across the globe. Through the use of predictive algorithms, each user is guaranteed a personalized, data-driven analysis for their specific requests, including potential c*** flow needs.

“InteGRIDy has demonstrated the technical and business viability of highly complex digital frameworks made up of multiple and different data recovery tools,” explains Javier Valiño, Head of the Energy, Climate and Decarbonization Unit at Atos Research & Innovation and coordinator of the inteGRIDy project. “There will be no green energy transition without complete digitalization.”

The pilots were carried out in the Isle of Wight (United Kingdom), San Severino Marche and Terni (Italy), Ploiesti (Romania), Xanthi and Thessaloniki (Greece), Nicosia (Cyprus), Barcelona (Spain), Lisbon (Portugal) and Saint-Jean de Maurienne (France).
