Nexcess now delivers managed disaster recovery with a continuously running, verified off-site copy of your server, powered by Acronis cyber protection technology.

Nexcess, a managed cloud provider, announced the expansion of its current Acronis backed suite of products with managed disaster recovery. This extends the company’s existing Acronis-powered backup service by giving businesses a live, bootable copy of their server standing by in the cloud. This includes 1 hour Recovery Time Objectives (RTO), automated provisioning on a pre-configured network, and proven readiness by automated test failovers.

Most businesses skip disaster recovery because the traditional version requires a second site, a replication stack, and someone to own it. This is one agent. Nexcess provisions resources available in the environment, verifies the connectivity, and runs the test failovers. For customers already backing up with Nexcess, the agent is already there.

“A backup protects your data. Disaster recovery protects your business,” said Michael Ohayon, General Manager, Managed Cloud, Nexcess. “Most businesses find out the difference the hard way, in the middle of a ransomware attack or a hardware failure, when they realize a restore is going to take hours they don’t have. We built this so a customer’s server is never more than click of a button away from being back online, and so they can see proof it works before they ever need it.”
