MagicalAuth beta launches on iOS and Android across all three major U.S. carriers, replacing SMS one-time passwords
Glide.id, a digital identity security company, announced the public beta with full US coverage and full commercial availability of MagicalAuth, its cryptographic authentication platform, across AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon on both iOS and Android — representing an alignment among the nation’s three largest carriers around a hardware-rooted cryptographic trust anchor. MagicalAuth enables businesses and digital service providers to move beyond SMS-based one-time passwords toward SIM-anchored cryptographic authentication delivered at network scale – enabling, for the first time, secure login without passwords or additional apps.

The launch arrives at a critical moment. U.S. consumers lost $15.9 billion to fraud in 2025 – up from just over $12 billion the prior year – and the trajectory is accelerating. Deepfakes, voice cloning, SIM swap attacks, and AI-powered social engineering have left organizations seeking secure authentication methods that go beyond the six-digit SMS one-time password. Glide.id’s public beta launch is a direct response to that need.
Carrier-Native Cryptographic Authentication
Glide.id’s flagship products, MagicalAuth and SuperPasskey, replace SMS-based one-time passwords with cryptographic authentication built on (e)SIM infrastructure issued by mobile carriers. By shifting authentication to the network level, MagicalAuth verifies identity using carrier-backed cryptographic proof of possession, rather than transmitting codes that can be intercepted or socially engineered.
Each SIM contains a carrier-issued cryptographic key. During authentication, MagicalAuth issues a mathematical challenge that can only be solved using the key embedded in the SIM, enabling identity verification without passwords or one-time codes. This approach is based on the same underlying principle used in chip-based payment cards.
By removing reliance on SMS-based authentication, the system is designed to reduce exposure to common attack vectors including phishing, SIM swap attacks, device takeover, number recycling, interception, and social engineering.

With support now live across AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon, Glide.id’s cryptographic authentication capabilities are available to developers and enterprises nationwide. This represents a coordinated response to a threat that no single carrier, institution, or technology company can address alone.
