As enterprises deepen AWS strategic relationships, Echoworx enables them to bring S/MIME certificate control in-house, cut manual risk, and modernize regulated external communication.

Echoworx announced a new capability for automated S/MIME certificate generation using an enterprise-managed Certificate Authority hosted in AWS Private CA. The integration helps large, highly regulated organizations automate certificate provisioning for boundary email encryption while keeping certificate issuance under their own control.

“Large enterprises are moving fast on major transformation initiatives, secure communication can’t be left behind in that shift.” said Michael Ginsberg, CEO of Echoworx.

As global enterprises deepen their strategic investments in cloud, AI, and modernization initiatives, they increasingly want to issue user certificates from their own internal AWS Private CA—not from an external provider. They also want to avoid the manual workflows that slow teams down, increase operational risk, and create unnecessary cost. For many organizations, the economics are clear: paying third parties for user certificates no longer makes sense when their own AWS CA can support the requirement.

Echoworx addresses that need by securely connecting to the customer’s AWS environment to generate certificate requests, retrieve signed certificates, and deploy them without requiring the enterprise to give up control of its CA or take on added administrative burden. The platform is 100% AWS deployed and has been recognized as qualified AWS software, giving enterprises added confidence as they align secure communication with broader cloud transformation priorities.

“Large enterprises are moving fast on major transformation initiatives, but secure communication can’t be left behind in that shift,” said Michael Ginsberg, CEO of Echoworx. “This capability helps them drive that transformation while modernizing one of the most sensitive parts of the security stack: regulated external communication.”

The business case is direct. Manual certificate processes create drag, add cost, and increase risk. Automating the S/MIME lifecycle helps organizations reduce administrative overhead, improve continuity, and support regulated communications with stronger governance and auditability.

For executive teams, that means modernization with fewer blockers. For security and messaging teams, it means fewer manual tasks, more consistent control, and more reliable secure communication at scale.

As organizations expand AI, automate workflows, and consolidate infrastructure, secure communication must keep pace. Echoworx helps ensure it does.
