Integration supports use of Global eID in 1Kosmos platform for trusted cross-border identity verification
Hopae, a leader in the digital identity infrastructure platform provider, recently announced a global partnership with 1Kosmos, a leader in unifying identity proofing and passwordless authentication. As part of the agreement, 1Kosmos will integrate Hopae Connect to extend its platform’s global eID coverage, enabling secure, interoperable verification of government-issued digital identities across countries without relying on centralized databases.
Traditional KYC processes remain slow, document-heavy, and repetitive, falling short of user expectations for fast and streamlined onboarding. Opening a bank account or applying for a loan often requires multiple verification steps and long processing times, leading to 30–50% drop-off rates, while exposing institutions to rising fraud risks driven by AI, deepfakes, and synthetic identities, estimated to cost $58 billion annually by 2030 (Juniper Research).
Meanwhile, digital Identity is becoming a reality across the world mainly due to Governments and the private sector pushing to offer Trusted Identity online. In Europe, eIDAS 2.0 will make the acceptance of the EUDI Wallet mandatory for regulated companies, adding further pressure on them to modernize their onboarding flows.
Together, 1Kosmos and Hopae will help reduce new customer onboarding time by providing turnkey eID consumption on a global basis while enabling 1Kosmos customers to comply with the most stringent requirements when dealing with remote identity verification including eIDAS2.0 regulation.
