Alchemi Data Management Inc., a leading provider of data security and compliance services, announced that CTO Rob Sims is scheduled to speak during SME’s Manufacturing Technology Series WEST event taking place this week at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California. Sims is set to participate alongside industry veterans in a panel discussion from 1-2 p.m. on Tuesday, October 7 in the SME Theater.
Titled, “A Connected, Organized and Process Driven Shop Floor Starts with Security,” the session aims to highlight the importance of security in driving the ever-connected organization and supply chain. From simple best practices for the small shop owner to the NIST and Cybersecurity Defense CMMC 2.0 requirements, the four-person panel will discuss mistakes to avoid, questions to ask, and how to position a shop to be safe well into the future. Manufacturers cannot remain competitive without connectivity and transparency – from the top floor to the shop floor. Keeping a shop protected, connected and systemized leads to long-term efficiency, consistency and scalability.

Sims is also scheduled to speak from 11-11:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 9 in the same SME Theater, presenting on Alchemi Data Management’s solutions that offer manufacturers secure enclaves and execution environments that protect sensitive files, enforce zero-trust operations, and produce audit-ready evidence – without slowing down production.
The Alchemi Compliance Enclave (ACE), powered by ShieldCRS, stands as a groundbreaking technology designed to help small and medium-sized manufacturers achieve and maintain compliance with the U.S. Department of Defense’s (DoD) Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) 2.0 requirements.
The Alchemi Execution Environment (AXE) protects sensitive data on shop floor machines – providing an all-encompassing, organization-wide approach to CMMC compliance. Additionally, AXE can be deployed independently of ACE, serving as a shopfloor digitization solution that connects all machines and provides a single point of truth for machine files.
Alchemi is also slated to participate in additional Manufacturing Technology Series events taking place in South Carolina, Texas and Massachusetts.
