Stronghold Data Leverages SonicWall CSE to Power Simpler, Faster Cybersecurity for Clients

SonicWall, in tandem with Stronghold Data, a Missouri-based MSP and New Charter Technologies company, known for high-performance solutions in demanding environments, are working together to provide unique cybersecurity solutions to customers. Central to this success is the implementation of SonicWall Cloud Secure Edge (CSE) which has enabled Stronghold Data to provide a modern secure remote access solution that streamlines onboarding, reduce client friction, and rapidly deploy secure, scalable environments — often in under 24 hours.

“At the end of the day, CSE just makes our lives easier, and our clients notice it,” said Avion Bryant, Chief Technology Officer at Stronghold Data. “We’ve rolled it out in banks, public safety departments, and remote teams. No headaches, no drama, just results. CSE solved problems we used to spend hours troubleshooting, now we barely touch it after setup.”

From Pain Points to Fast Wins

Faced with complex onboarding processes and legacy VPN frustrations like security gaps, complex management and poor end-user experiences, Stronghold Data began leveraging SonicWall CSE to simplify secure connectivity for remote workers and hybrid deployments. One of their most difficult clients, a regional bank with Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) and conditional firewall routing, saw the process of onboarding new users transform overnight with SonicWall CSE and a tailored Linux box deployment.

A Trusted Stack for Modern MSPs

Stronghold Data now integrates SonicWall into its core offering, delivering Security-as-a-Service with SonicWall firewalls and CSE for secure access — often replacing more expensive and complex solutions.

“The simplicity SonicWall brings is unmatched,” Bryant added. “The ability to take a product from another vendor and transition the settings to a SonicWall environment, the tools just work. I can read the raw data, convert it, and deploy – that gives us serious speed and a competitive advantage.”

According to Stronghold Data, CSE has proven especially effective in enabling secure access for organizations in the 20–50 user range and scales well up to 500 seats. Its success stems from seamless management of multiple tenants, improved performance in high-latency environments, and minimal need for post-deployment support. Critically, CSE also delivers enhanced security compared to traditional VPNs, helping clients reduce attack surfaces and better protect sensitive data without the complexity or risk associated with legacy remote access solutions.

“If you care about technology, have a budget, and want to grow, SonicWall is the team you call,” Bryant concluded. “I can pick up the phone, talk to SonicWall and the turnaround is in under 24 hours. That kind of partnership is rare.”
