By bringing together human expertise with AI-powered automation, this strategic acquisition extends New Charter’s ability to pioneer the future of IT for its clients.

New Charter Technologies, a portfolio company of Palo Alto-based private equity firm Oval Partners, has announced the acquisition of Orchestrate AI Labs, an AI-integration company focused on the future of the MSP. Founded by a team of experienced MSP and technology leaders, Orchestrate AI has operated largely in stealth mode, developing innovative solutions to bring the transformative power of frontier AI models into service delivery models.

“Orchestrate AI has held a singular focus on harnessing the unbelievable power of AI for the MSP model,” saidย Peter Melby, CEO of New Charter Technologies. “We are thrilled to bring them into New Charter and leverage both the team and the technology for our company and our clients. We are focused on building the MSP of the futureโ€”one where AI supports and enhances our people and our clients. With Orchestrate AI, we have the power and the depth to lead in new ways.”

As part of the acquisition, Orchestrate AI’s CEO and co-founder,ย Ryan Barton, has joined New Charter Technologies as Chief Innovation Officer. Barton will spearhead the organizational and technological vision for the next evolution of the IT department.

“The rise of powerful, widely available AI models is not merely an incremental technological advancement,” said Barton. “AI is novel. The power of these models is growing rapidly. This changes core assumptions on which IT departments (and the MSP industry) have long been built.”

Barton emphasized that the rise of these AI models not only changes the fundamentals of the MSP industry but also opens up new opportunities in business. “Our focus is to understand those changes, to build technology that harnesses this power, to wisely integrate AI throughout the organization, and to lead first New Charter โ€“ and then our clients โ€“ through what’s ahead. Change is here. Our job is to lead in that change, to wayfind for the organization, and to be a beacon of wisdom and capability for our clients who are wrestling with the coming impacts of the AI revolution.”

Barton continued, “We chose New Charter because of its commitment to people, its holistic approach to business, and its ability to lead the future of IT services at scale. It has the courage and the capability to be a pioneer for the next generation of IT services. That’s what we’re here to help bring about.”

The acquisition marks a significant step in New Charter Technologies’ ongoing mission to serve its clients through scale and innovation with the best people in the industry.
