“Cirrus Logic’s audio solutions and expertise will help ensure that the wide range of PCs powered by Intel Core Ultra processors deliver exceptional audio experiences for consumers.”

The reference design represents a significant advancement in PC audio technology, delivering enhanced sound quality, low power consumption, and flexible audio options for a wide range of PC segments.

The Intel reference design supports five audio architectures, ranging from two to six speakers, and is compatible with full-range speakers or tweeter and woofer combinations. This flexibility allows original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to customize and optimize the audio experience to suit their specific product needs, whether targeting mainstream, premium, and high-end market segments.

Cirrus Logic’s audio codec and amplifier chips enable loud and clear audio without rattle, while utilizing Cirrus Logic’s low-power IP to extend battery life. This solution also simplifies the design and validation process for PC manufacturers. The extensive optimization and testing carried out by the two companies ensures compatibility and performance across various audio designs.

“Cirrus Logic is excited to continue innovating with Intel on their latest reference design for PC audio,” said Carl Alberty, Vice President of Cirrus Logic’s Mixed-Signal Products. “We have leveraged our expertise in audio hardware and software to deliver a solution that offers design flexibility, low power consumption, and loud audio without compromising quality. The solution is poised to bring an impressive audio experience from mainstream to premium PCs, while simplifying the design effort for PC OEM and ODMs.”
