“Orca Security’s unique approach to cloud security has helped us attract the best talent in the industry”

Tavares joins Orca Security from Zscaler where he was instrumental in revamping strategy for increased partner profitability — helping accelerate multi-partner engagement. Prior to Zscaler, Tavares implemented a new global partner-first strategy at Commvault with a key focus on the company’s SaaS transformation business, Metallic. He also played a prominent role in building Dell Technologies’ partner-first IT Transformation business, managing over $1 billion in annual revenue, and pioneered initiatives that drove 25% year-over-year growth in partner-driven sales.

“Orca Security’s unique approach to cloud security has helped us attract the best talent in the industry,” said Gil Geron, Co-Founder and CEO of Orca Security. “With John’s impressive career in executing partner-driven enablement programs built on the delivery of transformative software solutions, we are confident he will help us elevate our partner program to new heights and support our continued growth.”

Orca Security’s comprehensive partner-first strategy to drive growth and expand its reach has already resulted in a spike in deal registrations and sharp increase in the number of partners closing business with Orca. Most recently, the company introduced a new partner portal designed to streamline and enhance the partner experience by providing easy access to sales and marketing resources, training modules, and support tools. Key features include an enhanced Deal Registration process, personalized dashboards, advanced analytics to track performance, and streamlined workflows.

“What attracted me to Orca Security is the incredible partner-first ethos that Gil and his team instill throughout the company. This brings a mutual trust that will allow us to move quickly in increasing partner momentum globally,” said John Tavares. “My immediate goals include strengthening our existing partnerships and enhancing our partner enablement programs to ensure they have the tools and resources needed to succeed. Additionally, I plan to embark on a global listening tour with Orca partners to understand what’s working, areas for improvement, and their vision for the future partnership. Having multiple partners engaged in an opportunity, all succeeding in their objectives, is another major area of focus. In my view, this is the most important frontier in modern partner strategy.”
