Edge Print for Microsoft gives IT admins fine-grained control over which printers are available for remote printing, and provides full visibility of printers outside of the corporate network
directprint.io has expanded support for the Microsoft ecosystem with the release of Edge Print for Microsoft Azure. With Edge Print, end-users can print on their Windows PC, Chromebook, or Mac device – whether they’re at home, on a guest network, or even between different office locations.
This new update follows directprint.io’s integration with Azure AD and the serverless print management solution’s launch on the Azure AD Marketplace. Edge Print was originally designed to support customers formerly using Google Cloud Print to print remotely over the internet, with this latest release, the disruptive ISV is extending the same capabilities to Microsoft Azure customers.

Edge Print enables users to securely print when they are not on the same network as the printer. Printers remain on a secure network and cannot be exposed to vulnerabilities that are common with personal devices and home networks, while print jobs are kept within an organization’s approved Google/Microsoft infrastructure, ensuring information remains safe and secure.
For IT administrators, Edge Print gives fine-grained control over which printers are available for remote printing, as well as full visibility into printers used outside of the corporate network. Plus, it’s easy to control which users can print remotely – thanks to Google Workspace and Microsoft Azure integration – IT leads can grant remote print user privileges drilling down to individual users, groups or devices.
This latest expansion signals the serverless print management company’s ongoing commitment to bring parity to its Microsoft integration vs its rich Google Workspace integration as it continues its ambitious growth plans for 2022. Directprint.io supports over 5,000 printer models via Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 across Chrome, Windows, and Mac operating systems.
