Wipro Included in 2022 Bloomberg Gender Equality Index

Wipro Limited, a leading global information technology, consulting and business process services company, announced that it has been included in the 2022 Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index (GEI).

Wipro is one of 418 companies across 45 countries and regions to join the 2022 Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index (GEI), a modified market capitalization-weighted index that aims to track the performance of public companies committed to transparency in gender-data reporting. This reference index measures gender equality across five pillars: female leadership & talent pipeline, equal pay & gender pay parity, inclusive culture, anti-sexual harassment policies, and pro-women brand.

This is the third consecutive year that Wipro has been included in the Index. Member companies represent a variety of sectors, including financials, technology and utilities, which collectively have the highest company representation in the index.

“We are honoured to be included in the Gender-Equality Index. At Wipro, we believe that a truly inclusive workplace requires transparency and consistency in efforts that challenge stereotypes and biases at work while creating a strong network of allies,” said Sunita Cherian, Chief Culture Officer & Senior Vice President, Corporate Human Resources, Wipro Limited.

Wipro is a signatory of the Women Empowerment Principles (established by UN Global Compact and UN Women) since 2012, showing its commitment to the agenda of gender equality and women empowerment at the workplace. Wipro launched Enrich in 2021, a sponsorship program for high-potential women leaders, with the objective of strengthening the talent pipeline and creating an ecosystem of enablement. The organization also relaunched its Begin Again program, an initiative to hire women who are seeking to restart their career after a break.
