Commenting on the research, Janer Gorohhov, co-founder and CPO at Veriff:
“The global cybersecurity workforce has been growing in size for many years since the introduction of the internet and, subsequently, online fraud. Figures show that since the beginning of the pandemic, cybercrimes are dramatically rising, causing a higher demand for services such as identity verification to help safeguard businesses from fraud.
“Our research has revealed an interesting ranking of the companies and countries leading the way in cybersecurity. While the top companies recruiting into cybersecurity are primarily based in the US and the UK, it’s great to see a wide range of countries from different parts of the globe coming together to build up a more robust cybersecurity workforce – such as Brazil, Japan, Ireland and Australia.
“In a world that is becoming increasingly remote and digital-first, fraudsters are getting smarter, but so is the cybersecurity workforce. With technology such as AI-powered identity verification and a range of open jobs in numerous fields within cybersecurity, it’s empowering to see the force of this industry growing and improving in order to prevent cybercrime from happening.”
