โ€œIn evaluating cities for our new home-base, Nashville quickly rose to the topโ€

โ€œIn evaluating cities for our new home-base, Nashville quickly rose to the top,โ€ said Chris Rouland, founder and CEO of Phosphorus. โ€œTennessee’s business-friendly environment combined with Nashvilleโ€™s quality of life and highly-skilled workforce made this move a natural choice for our growing company.โ€

A key draw for Phosphorus to the city is Nashvilleโ€™s network of prominent colleges and universities, like Vanderbilt University. Its School of Engineering includes a cybersecurity program, with a focus on IoT and cyber-physical security, and should provide a great source of talent for the company.

The company will raise $20 million in capital this year, redeploying the majority of the proceeds into talent to drive profitable sales growth. Up to 50 jobs will be added over the next three years, with software engineers being the primary hires as the company invests in engineering know-how to continue to fortify its proprietary IoT security software.
