MediaTek-Powered 5G NR Router Launched by Zyxel Communications

MediaTek’s T830 and Filogic 680 chipsets serve as the core of Zyxel’s third generation of 5G router technology

Zyxel Communications launches the first commercialized 5G NR and WiFi 7 gateway. Powered by MediaTek’s newest chipsets, these devices combine the best of 5G technologies with WiFi 7 capabilities and offer users unprecedented speed and stability in an ever more connected world.

Zyxel’s newest 5G NR routers come equipped with embedded AI capabilities including remote device management, real-time WiFi analytics and parental control options available through cloud technology. These devices also offer power monitoring functionalities to help reduce energy consumption.

“We’re always looking to take the next step in technical innovation and this product is no different,” said Karsten Gewecke, president at Zyxel. “By merging 5G with WiFi 7, service providers can truly provide next-generation internet connectivity, while taking advantage of the powerful AI functionality embedded in our third-generation routers.”

At the heart of Zyxel’s newest router are the T830 and Filogic 680, two cutting-edge chipsets from leading semiconductor manufacturer MediaTek. As an industry leader, MediaTek has consistently been on the cutting edge of WiFi 7 technology, and through the Filogic 680, the manufacturer will help bring WiFi 7 standards in line with rigorous enterprise requirements.
