Launched in 2015, iD Mobile has become one of the fastest-growing MVNOs in the UK market, currently boasting more than 1.2 million customers. As the platform for all online charging, MATRIXX’s digital monetization solution supports iD Mobile’s innovative feature set — including bill capping, data rollover and free roaming in 50 destinations — all of which rely heavily on a robust bill management solution to ensure customers are charged correctly.

“Consumers are more price-conscious than ever before, and they value iD Mobile’s transparency and efforts to cap those costs. On the back end, MATRIXX offers the centralization of data needed to make those features a reality. We are excited to continue our partnership with the iD Mobile team and give more UK mobile customers the transparent, digital-first experience they’re craving,” said Glo Gordon, CEO of MATRIXX Software.

As of the start of 2022, there were 71.8 million mobile connections in the UK, more than the country’s population. Smartphone usage is expected to cover 95% of the population by 2025. With such a saturated market, communications service providers (CSPs) are constantly looking to provide new plans and offerings and streamline the entire customer experience from setup to billing. MATRIXX’s digital monetization solution gives MVNOs, like iD Mobile, the ability to monetize new services or offerings via a simplified architecture with composable and reusable critical monetization functions, unifying previously siloed data onto one platform. This same architecture gives mobile customers full transparency for all services and spending and the option to pay when and how they want for all services.

As mobile technology continues to advance, including 5G standalone and beyond, MVNOs need the agility provided by the MATRIXX digital monetization solution to continue launching competitive, high-quality plans — without setting up additional, costly billing systems. The revenue streams generated by these new services as well as the operational efficiencies enabled by the unified billing platform give MVNOs the capital flexibility to continue investing in new technologies.
